Didn't say Cornish or Cofer were slouches. I still believe this class needs a big time commitment from a player more on the national radar.

For the sake of conversation, why do you believe that? I'm just curious not trying to argue.

You always need to get that big time commit. Talent wins games. And last I checked UK was raking them in. UT needs to get one or two themselves to be competitive. We got Stokes, now Hubbs, so basically we need to continue that trend of getting super talent. Looney would be that kind of player I'm talking about.

In honestly think he could, I just think he'll choose not to.

I don't know. The way Tennessee runs motion, with anyone liable to pop open at any time, puts a premium on having a shooter at every position. It really was frustrating to see guys get an open three last year and clang the ball. I think you try to Mitchell and two more posts - probably London and Hurt, but just maybe Looney - then have a heart to heart with a sophomore or two in the fall.

This is true. I'm hoping Zo can break out of state and grab a highly rated guy. Until he does that, my expectation is we land all 150 players with an occasional highly rated 5 star from Tennessee.

I don't disagree with you, I'm just stating where I believe Zo stands on it.

I think we're gonna look for a forward Looney/London, and then 2 posts Hurt/Turman/Kasongo.

If it was up to me I'd push for Mitchell still, take London or Looney, and still 2 posts. Would be a class of 7, I would sit down with Q and Reese and help them find a new school. We are in position to take a very deep, quality class, I'd use that opportunity to flip the roster...jmo

I think we are gonna have to win more before we can really "expect" any more 5*. At this point it's just too much of a negative for any potential one and done to overlook IMO.

Plenty of teams have proven you don't have to have 5* on your roster to make it deep in the dance.

With the signing of Austin I guess we just sent Mitchell a message. Bleed, where does the focus turn toward now? Looney and one more BIG?

I think you've got a board like:

Looney, Black, Hurt at the top
Turman, London, Kasongo a tier down

I think the staff would love to take all 3 on the top line, but obviously that's not likely. I could see Hurt and London being Vols, and assuming we miss on Looney, the staff taking one more post (Turman/Kasongo).

Forget Black, put your focus on Looney/Hurt, then Kasongo/Turman, then London.

I agree, however the staff doesn't. They seem determined to continue to push for Black. I will say though, long thought to be a Florida lean, seems to be some chatter that he's actually unlikely to end up there.

I don't have much hope in getting Looney, but a Hurt/Kasongo commit would sure put a jiggle in my wiggle.

I would be ecstatic to close with London, Kasongo and Hurt. Would be taking 6, 4 seniors, Stokes goes pro, and someone transfers. The future would be looking good.
