'14 GA RB Treyvon Paulk (UT Signee 2/5/14)

Bruce mentioned he was a RB, right? for some reason he's not ever mentioned as a RB for us

Bruce played in the TN/KY high school all star game. Day 1 he was with the WR group. He told a coach he was a RB so they told him he could go work with the RB during position drills. Two days later he came back to the WR group and asked to work at WR again because he was not going to get enough touches at RB. He could not beat out the guys at that game for touches at RB. Literally no chance he plays RB at UT.

Who were the other RB's there?

Remember Abernathy. He's a good player.

He's super tiny though. Like 5'7 160. I know that doesn't mean he can't be a productive RB, but I'm skeptical of us being able to rely on him for any more production than we got from Devrin last season.

The 3rd or 4th guy behind a couple 5* needs to be serviceable. Imo Abernathy and Kelly fit that role very well at this point.

I get where you're coming from, but you're assuming Hurd and Kamara will both stay healthy all season. If one of them (or both) goes down, then we don't have a RB who can carry the load. Being in that situation really slowed us down against Vandy. With no Hurd and Lane banged up, our offense looked as bad as it did all season with Dobbs at QB.

The way I see it Hurd and Kamara are 1a and 1b for us and we don't have an established #2 at RB. Sure, Abernathy can fill that Devrin Young 3rd down RB/change of pace role, but that's about it.

Hopefully Kelly will come along quickly and be a viable option. We need him to be able to step in and carry some of the load if Hurd or Kamara go down. If that happens and he can't, our offense will be a lot more limited in what we can do.
