So you are upset that speculation about him being a lock has now turned into less strong speculation that he's a lock based on him not letting his baseball teammates down and the fact that he may take some visits?Didn't say he missed the game. I know he had a game. He clearly is no longer a Vol lock as was reported the last month or so.
ORRRRR.... maybe his missing the O&W game had nothing at all to do with his football recruitment and EVERYTHING to do with his commitment to his baseball teammates? If that's the case, I still hope to see him in Orange. If that's not the case... then I am OK with game players moving on. There are other good players out there. But... I strongly suspect that the simplest interpretation is the accurate one.He clearly has opened his recruiting to consider other teams that didn't seem to be in the picture. This just happened to coincide with missing the O&W game. That's my point.
And good for you thinking he shouldn't miss a high school baseball game over attending the Spring game of the College team to which it was said he was going to commit the next four years of his life.... a commitment that could possibly lead to a chance to secure his financial future.... sure, that 1 baseball game of at least 40 he'll play this Spring was way more important...got it!
Given the magnitude of his potential decision I gotta feeling his coach would probably understand and give him his blessing. This isnt about some honorable thing to do...it's about priorities. I'd be willing to bet if he had still been 100% sure about committing to UT that he'd have been at the O&W game.
I think you have to agree that pretty much everyone had confirmed he was going to commit at the O&W game and now given his list is changing and he is taking visits, he is no where near the level of a lock as everyone credible had said including the paid reporters.
Wrong? So he's is still a Vol lock, the next commit, genius? So he doesn't now state that Syracuse is at the top of his list? You got some inside info you wanna share? Yeah, didn't think so.
Why are the posts in the Glass thread indicating that McDowell may not commit until NSD? Is this just an overreaction to McDowell missing the O&W game to play a makeup baseball game for his high school (that commitment to his coaches and teammates being paramount to a revruiting weekend) or is there legitimate information, or even rumor, that McDowell is nowhere close to deciding? Also, I know he is listed as a S but, with his height, are there any rumors that he will play OLB in college? Any help would be appreciated and I want this kid to be a Vol because he seems to have incredible potential to my untrained eye.
If he's about to make the biggest decision of his life to date and commit the next four years of his life to that University as was reported from multiple credible sources?... Yes, I do.
Sometimes he is but other times, he is totally out of control. Makes me feel the same as I do when my daughter is driving. That I am in a rocket ship and I can't make it stop.
I would not want to be on a team with you. Commitments (not talking about football) you make to others need to be followed thru on. If my child has a game he is suppose to play in, I do not want him to be selfish and let his team down regardless if it is one of 40 games or a playoff to see a spring game. Who knows how important the game was. He has till Feb to make this decision if he wants to do so. You blasting him is silly in my opinion. He may have been about to commit but pulled back. Would you rather he made the commitment then backed out later near signing day because he rushed it?
I never ever blasted the kid. Simply suspected there was more than just the baseball game as to why he did not go to the Orange and White game and commit at that time as "everyone" said he was supposed to. Obviously that was correct as he has not committed and has opened his recruitment back up. That's all .... your self-righteousness notwithstanding.
See, he always takes a shot. You did say he should skip out on the baseball team. It is obvious something was up as far as him not committing. If someone disagrees with kb, he shoots a degrading comment toward them. My opinion is I would not want to play with a guy who leaves our team hanging to go to a spring game he is not playing in anyway. You said you would have skipped it. Hence, would not want you on my team and I am sure the feeling is mutual. Wonder if you have played team sports outside of Rec leagues when you were little.
And how is that blasting him? I simply stated an opinion about the kids recruitment ... and was blasted for it. Never blasted the kid.
We clearly disagree. Keep wondering chief... not worth my time to argue with you anymore.
