There is NOTHING in these recent reports to suggest that he didn't choose to play in that game rather than visit. IIRC, he did in fact have a game. If a kid were committed to a team then blew an important game off to take a visit that was not necessary... that would bother me more than him not visiting.
As others have said already, the kid wants to take things a little slower. This does not mean UT is "slow playing" him or anything like that. But feel free to speculate to no end.
Wrong? So he is still a Vol lock, the next commit genius? So he doesn't now state that Syracuse is at the top of his list? You got some inside info you wanna share?
Didn't say he missed the game. I know he had a game. He clearly is no longer a Vol lock as was reported the last month or so. He clearly has opened his recruiting to consider other teams that didn't seem to be in the picture. This just happened to coincide with missing the O&W game. That's my point.
And good for you thinking he shouldn't miss a high school baseball game over attending the Spring game of the College team to which it was said he was going to commit the next four years of his life.... a commitment that could possibly lead to a chance to secure his financial future.... sure, that 1 baseball game of at least 40 he'll play this Spring was way more important...got it!
None of that is in anyway related to him missing the orange and white game though. Do you really expect any high school kid to just skip out on a game in order to visit a campus that he will have many other opportunities to visit?
If he's about to make the biggest decision of his life to date and commit the next four years of his life to that University as was reported from multiple credible sources?... Yes, I do.
How the hell is this speculating? Before the O&W game it was said from multiple sources he was definitely the next to commit, was gonna be at the O&W game and definitely commit there. Then, he doesn't come to the game, and now he says Syracuse is at the top of his list. How am I speculating? Things have changed and he is no longer a Vol lock.
this is absurd
the young man honored a commitment to his school and his teammates
Wasn't he the prospect who missed the O&W because he was playing in a baseball game? Also, I think when he says Syracuse is at the top of list it doesn't necessary reflect that they are his leader. "Top of the list" could just mean they will be in his top 5, which is actually the question that prompted his answer. It's clear interest has picked up with him and he did not think he would get this big, so he has decided to "try and wait until February". I'm not disagreeing that he is no longer "a Vol lock", just think you're looking too far into the whole Syracuse thing. :hi:
Agree to disagree pal. Absurd to think he would miss 1 Spring baseball game so he could verbally commit to playing to play major college football on the path to possibly securing his future? You say I'm absurd.... I say you're delusional.
So you would have rather seen him break his commitment to his current team, so he could come make a commitment to a new team..
He honored his commitment. Shows character
