BB, I know you're loving this recruiting so far. I was thinking about all the DBs we're in good shape with. Here's what I have:

Emmanuel Smith (potential OLB later)
McDowell
Payne
Reavis
Gaulden
Glass
DJ Smith
Berry Bros (Evan is listed at DB, but does anyone really know what position they would play in college?)

These are just the DBs off the top of my head. That's a great list.

This is the problem I have with recruiting right now..... where are all the lineman and linebackers lining up to come here

I mean, at we gonna take 8 DBs? I WANT THEM TO BE VOLS, but I McDowell, Glass, Gaulden, the kid from Cali, smith, Payne, and tabor all say they want I come to UT, are we gonna turn them down to hold out for the Berry's?

Unless we project them at LB

The Berry twins will have a spot if they decide to be Vols no matter what position the staff thinks they play.

I understand being optimistic, but pointing to the top 5-6 DB's on our board and calling them our DB class is just not going to happen. "I named 6, so we won't have room for others", just does not play out like that.

I fully realize that, my statement was more of a theoretical situation for if we did get those guys. In that instance, I believe the Berrys would probably not be a part of this class.

I agree it's unlikely we get everyone I named...if we get half I'd be happy. But if it came down to the end, I could see it being tough

Both berry bros are versatile and can project to a number of positions. They will have a spot. Evan can play corner/s/WR and Elliot I assume will be a linebacker in college

I like it quite a bit. Need a few more pure CBs IMO. But we'll be fine. Also this kid could end up as a LB too. He's a big strong athlete that could make the move.

im sure youve seen his film, what i liked when i watched it was that it wasnt your typical highschool db film where its 30 plays of him just defending passes. most of this kids highlights are of him in run support blowing up ball carriers. kid can really defend the run, especially on the edges where he just traps and destroys guys along the sideline. hope he commits soon!!
