I think we are in store for a lot of that in this class. Seems anytime a recruit ranked 4* or better mentions Tennessee our fanbase fabricates the tales of how we are now the team to beat for the kid. I am trying to focus more on the recruits who obviously favor the Vols and we stand a good chance to land.

agreed. i have a list in my head of who i think we get. and we lead for 90% of them

yeah i remember all of that, im talking about the "chance to steal him away". he might seem really interested in us, but as soon as he visits the other school again, it's over. just the vibe im getting

Totally agree. I think most of us think because Butch and co. have done such a stellar job so for that we can any top recruit. I am hopeful that Garrett picks us but I am pretty realistic as well. With almost every stud school wanting him I find it hard to get very excited about landing him. Now if we have a good year with say 7-9 wins......

You never know with some of these kids....I think it helps that Butch has already built a strong foundation. At least we have a shot...Butch obviously is a hard working recruiter. This kid is a beast at LB though--watched his junior highlights and he can ball with the best of them.

We're gonna miss out of some of our wants this year unless we click and do something good in the fall. Still, we're on our way.

Another Rivals Challenge Note

Just talked with linebacker Clifton Garrett, he tells me that the Vols are a firm No. 2 behind LSU and he's trying to get down for a visit this summer. Will definitely officially visit in the fall as things stand now.

Dude needs to take a long look at MLB's that have come out of UT and the MLB's that have come out of LSU. Outside of Minter, I can't think of a notable LSU LB in the past 5-10 years.

Many of those MLB's out of big orange country were coached by a man who now wears purple and gold...

Yeah that kind of squashes out the better MLB play. We just need to sell him on the quality of our recruiting class, rebuilding a traditional power, be the next big thing on defense for UT, and most importantly playing time. We need this kid, it will improve our D and LB drastically.

He is incredibly talented. Really has a nose for the ball. Would love to see him in Big Orange.
