'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

What about the kids that flip to UT? Do you call them liars? Should we not accept them and kick them off of the team? Stop having double standards and living your life through college aged kids.

As I have said before, situations change. Mr. Lambert is entitled to change his mind. He is a grown man and has free will. He does not owe anyone on Volnation a reason why.

I agree, even other commits have said Davonte should do what he believes what is best for him and his family.

If that is us, great, if not it sucks and we move on. I am sure Butch will still get us to 35 and a very good 35 at that.

I'm going to go on record and say that IF he flips on Wednesday (and I think he will) then it is a absolute huge blow to this class. If I had to pick between getting this guy or Adoree Jackson I'd choose Lambert. He's probably the most important piece to this class in regards to having immediate success next year. Things like this happen every year to pretty much every team but this one really sucks. I especially hate the fact that it's Auburn too. Words can't describe how much I hate Auburn. Not because of this but there's just something sketchy about that program. I mean are we really supposed to be led to believe that they didn't pay Cam Newton? /Rant.

uh....wut?

Flipping would be a curious decision for a JUCO. I don't know what Auburns depth chart looks like, but it can't be more favorable than ours. 90% of the defensive line snaps gone, and we don't really have anyone with the big SDE body type to take Miller and Walls snaps.

If Lambert flips Hendrix, Mixon, and Jaylen Miller better be ready for heavy minutes.

He doesn't owe VN anything, but he's stabbing bUTch in the back.

Don't make a commitment you won't be loyal to. It's just being a man. He shouldn't of made the commitment. It's kinda a lack of character. How would you feel if you had a woman that made a verbal committed to you, then she sleeps with another man? It sounds like you'd be fine with it. If you're not 100%, then don't make the commitment, its that simple.

He hasn't signed anything. I am sure in your short or long life you have said that you would do something that you have not done. You are being quite ignorant to say this young man is not a man because he is reevaluating his college choice.

Infidelity happens. It is part of living. No one is immune to it, nor is no one ok with it. There was only one perfect man that walked the earth, and I am sure that man is not you.

Changing his mind doesn't bother me. It's the potenial lieing about it

If the guys we flipped repeated reaffirmed their commits yes they are liars.

I'm of the belief he should have opened things up after the Iron bowl, or at least told our coaches he was opening things up. Proclaiming you are a Vol, days later hosting Malzahn and Garner, then going silent right as the dead period starts (just as the NCAA changes the rules days before the dead period starts also) is a shady thing to do.

You are more emotional than my 11 year old daughter. I am sure Butch understands the nature of the business. CBJ recruits other players that are committed elsewhere. Recruiting is what it is. Do you not want CBJ to recruit other players that are committed?

If Davonte wants to go to Auburn then he should. It he wants to be a VFL, then he should. We only want VFLs at UT. Either way, we will be OK. We have a heck of a class coming in 2014 with some highly rated D-Linemen.

He wasn't perfect either. So you're telling me is to not believe what anyone says. It's ok to break your promise and word. It's ok to have no integrity. Nobody asks anything of me, and its wonderful! He shouldn't of verbal if his decision isn't made.

He probably said it so that people like you would stop asking him about it. You don't know him personally, so you don't have to know EVERYTHING that he is thinking, or EVERYTHING that goes on in his head.

Calling a young man a liar is wrong just because he doesn't want you in his business. He is a college age kid, not a politician.

I have the same issue as Bruin does with the lying. This kid affirmed his commitment again and again to only leave us like Kiffin.

I make decisions based on information available, if information changes or new information comes to light, then I often re-evaluate. Sometimes my decision sticks, sometimes I change based on this.

No one has any idea what is going on behind the scenes or through Davonte's head.

He's a kid. I hope he commits to the Vols, but I won't hold a grudge against him if he doesn't. He is doing what he feels is the best thing to do.

Comparing this kid to Kiffin is ludicrous.

It's a cutthroat business. That's one reason these coaches make the BIG BUCKS. :good!:

You lie!

Believe what you want, but at the end of the day. That young man has to do what is best for him. You will not feed him nor his family. You will not put clothes on his back. You will not even pay his bills, and chances are you would not even invite him into your home.

I love UT just as much as the next person, but I am not going to crucify a young man because he decides to go elsewhere.

We're calling this kid a potential liar because he is lying about his commitment. Liar is hardly any different than a thief.

He does have that right, but it doesn't make lying right either. I'd invite the guy in. He said multiple times this weekend that he's 100% to UT. Now that's apparently not true at all. Lying is wrong. If he signs with us, I'll take my crow in peace.
