'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

Niebuhr is the Auburn staff writer and it would be hard for him to state anything else but Lambert to Auburn.

You had NFL talent?

Talent leads to exposure. Exposure never leads to talent; that is the difference. Lots of kids start multiple seasons worth of games in the SEC and never even sniff the NFL. Why not? They certainly had more than enough "exposure"?

You do realize that you arguing Auburn's recruiting points on a UT message board isn't going to help your school's chances right? You know you're not actually talking to Lambert and you aren't actually a coach right? :loco:

There is a post by Callahan on 247 that is an update, has 1000+ views and it's not even to 5 up votes yet.. Can't be good

No way you're this stupid! Have you ever watched football? You need both exposure and talent. I can't believe this is a new revelation to you and you think all these jucos are lying about the need for exposure. You know more than them?

How so? Neither of them were ever committed to UT.

I've never understood those comparisons either. Both recruitments were different. Gabe Wright was uncommitted until NSD. Lawson was committed to Auburn and entertained the thought of coming here but stuck with his original commitment. Lambert has been committed to UT for several months now. Regardless of what he decides, this would be a different set of circumstances.

i've spoken with a couple of people today who have indicated that four-star defensive lineman davonte lambert of georgia military college in milledgeville, ga., still has been going back and forth between tennessee and auburn this morning, and i haven't received any indication that either school has received his signed national letter of intent to this point. In other words, this still might not be over, although we heard yesterday that there was a chance he would submit his nli sometime in the morning before making his scheduled announcement around 3 p.m. Eastern time.

Any people who might be suggesting that this one was decided before today — or that it's a done deal even now — probably are getting ahead of themselves. Both schools, as far as i can tell, still seem to be cautiously optimistic about their chances. This one appears to be coming down to the wire.

Good catch. This along with the 4 brick tweet. Can't help but be confident.

I know people don't like to read too much into things like this, but I think it tells the story.

That update by Callahan doesn't sound good for Tennessee IMO. Too often we have seen this crap go down with Auburn and it almost always ends in their favor.

It's not a mutually exclusive argument. One must first have exposure to showcase one's talent. At that point if the talent is sufficient, that person may get a shot to play sports for money. Not a hard concept to understand.

I hope you're right but Keith did say Auburn would keep completely quiet about Lambert until 3 PM even if he were to sign early in the day.

And a other report said they would stay quiet until they were finished

Everything we have seen this morning this is the most telling IMO
