Beginning to think he was always barn. Thought it strange he committed here in first place. He was told to do this like gabe wright was told by trouper to do what he did so we would be left empty handed and perhaps miss on someone else. He was lying the whole time.

Don't know about all of that. But I do think 2 games turned the tide against us. Losing to Vandy and Auburn upsetting Bama. Those 2 games don't go the way they do, he's probably a Vol.

So did he actually sign with Auburn today? Bottomline of ESPN just said he decommitted from us and verbally committed to Auburn

Add in the UGA miracle they had....they should have been 9-3 and we should have finished 6-6 at WORST and probably 7-5.

After Rubin's death I could give a crap about Lambert. Rubin was a true VFL, not a pretender.

Good luck to Lambert in the future, but you missed out on being part of the best football family ever. Your loss, not ours.

This. I'd loved to have lambert but it's not a life or death matter. The tennessee family is the best there is. Hop on the bandwagon or we'll move on without you.

Stuff like this is going to happen a couple more times before NSD. Welcome to the world of recruiting.

Lambert chose a different school. He's how I view the situation: Lambert just opened up another spot in the recruiting class, and Butch has about two months to go get another big time recruit.

Wait... I thought he was visiting AU just for fun? He had the coaches at his house at midnight just for ****s and giggles?

Several posters in here were acting like tools to the people who doubted lambert and his "commitment". Maybe in the future you should respect other people's opinions even if you don't agree with them.

As for recruiting, I have no problem with a recruit backing out of his commitment to do what's best for him (ex. Lauderdale). What I do have a problem with is lying... bold face lying to a school that has spent countless hours/resources with you building a relationship. Lambert joins his fellow DL, Gabe Wright, as two of the biggest liars I've encountered during recruiting. What goes around comes around. Lambert may be a great football player, but a respectable person he is not.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over a decommit from a JUCO player. Even as great as some perform, C Patterson, he was here only 1 year. My feelings are different come February when we miss on players like Vonn Bell, etc. I realize he wasn't a recommit, but I would have loved to have him. Anyway, I don't think this is a sign in regards to Feb. Just the way things go sometimes. Give me a VFL 18 year old before a JUCO anyday of the week.
