Just got in from a long day. I hate that Lambert flipped. People can say what they want, but he was a key recruit in this class. It doesn't matter that he was a JuCo. He was a player that could have had an immediate impact on the field next year which would have helped us in rebuilding, immensely. And even though this may come accross as an "I told you so", it's not meant to be. Anytime a recruit that is supposedly 100% committed starts listening to another team at the eleventh hour, alarm bells should start ringing. That's not 100% committed. And his getting upset about people talking about it was further proof that he was unsure of his committment.
I don't hate the young man himself, but I hate the way he handled his recruiting. It showed a lack of honor. I get this is a life changing decision for him, but if this were my son, I'd be extremely upset and disappointed with him. Not because he changed his mind, but because he didn't man up and just admit weeks ago he was on the fence. He led our coaches along, basically lying to them. That kind of action is shameful, but unfortunately, all too much a part of recruiting today. Football recruiting shows a microcosm of one of the main problems I see in the world today. Young people refuse to act responsibly, and with dignity. They prefer to make everything a show. In other words, too much ego.
To you Mr. Lambert, I hope you at least learn to be a good man. I don't really care about your success on the field. I won't wish you to fail(I don't expect that you will fail), but what will be will be. Get your education. Grow as a person, because you have lots of room there. Learn to be humble, and learn to act with honor. A man's word should mean everything, but unfortunately, that's just not the way of the world anymore.
