I hope Davante gets cleared if there are any issues with his grades. i hate hearing things like this. Yeah he may have lied to the coaches to go to a different team but these are just young men who are trying to make something of themselves. Good luck Davante! GBO!
Agreed. Very few Nick Fairley like impact players coming out of JUCO.
If he was trying to make something of himself, he would go to class and do his school work. They are STUDENT-athletes. Get it? STUDENT
not everyone is college material. Unfortunately guys like him are forced into that system in order to pursue their dreams
cheering the failure of a 19yo guy is low rent
No everyone is not college material, but there are many other avenues that he can pursue to be successful. If his dream is to play football, there are many avenues that he can pursue to play football. He could have gone Division III and played. Don't act like he is a poor victim. If he wants it bad enough, and he is good enough, he will make it. Look at London Fletcher.
Because Bammer loses....DUH! Don't you know that outside of the Vols WINNING, the only thing we care about is Bama LOSING?
Nick Fairley was one dirty azz mean mofo at Auburn. That's one way to make up for a lack of experience at a position and even close a talent deficit. A mean player on a d-line or o-line can be less talented physically than the other guy and still wind up the better player because he goes over the top and just don't give shizz. Fairley was obviously both talented and mean.
Yep, but the demands are not quite are rigid. ALL colleges are not the same. Smaller school, with smaller class sizes tend to help student athletes.

when our staff does it they are celebrated and the player is showered with boom, #VFL, etc. When it gets done to us the other staff obviously paid him off, he's a traitor and we should hope he fails out of school. Not to mention the situation where our staff offers a kid and then rescinds that offer in hopes of getting someone elseSo is lying to people who are offering you a free path to pursue those dreams. The majority of the ill will expressed in this thread really is over his lying and not his decision to attend Auburn. If it is true that he waited until 30 minutes before his announcement to inform our staff of his true intentions then the ill will here is more than justified. Lambert is an adult and his actions scream entitlement.
Going back on your word at the last minute after making promises to people is low rent too. Nobody should be going online to hassle this guy directly, but I've got no problem with the general level of schadenfreude on VN about it.
so a person who might not be college material should go to a college without a scholarship on the off chance he might be good enough to get a scout from the NFL to watch him? Good grief, people need to quit acting like these players are all competing for Rhodes scholarships and just accept the reality of what college football truly is
