I will say it like this. IF Woody Quinn was worth the risk at TE, Ward is worth the risk at DE/DT/TE. JMO

Also pretty sure I read he did play WR some not long ago. I would think he could catch the ball.

If there wasnt a limit i would agree. No room for projects this year. Last year we had to take a few just to get close to full

Btw, after Reed, Ward is my choice at JUCO DT.

Considering Reed is already committed to bama, Mr Ward, come on down! :clapping:

If the Lambert stuff happens to be true and he flips, it might open another spot to consider this kid for. I do hope Lambert sticks with UT.

It would be devastating at this point to lose Lambert. Lambert, Ward, Mosley, and Mixon/Barnett would be an impressive class at DT :)

This guy is a great size speed prospect. If he can come in as a situational pass rusher he is a take, in my opinion.

Last year's recruiting class was significantly different than this years.

It's not like the kid is a scrub. 247 has him rated as the #2 Juco DT in the country. He may be a project as his technique needs some work, but his size/speed makes him elite IMO.

Agreed, this kid could be a major game changer! I wonder how high up this kid is on Butch's list? These freak athletes are often very rare. So I hope we can capitalize on this one. It would be huge for us!

Are his measurables inflated? That is my concern. They most probably are. Has Jihad taken a visit to Knoxville yet?

Nope, He played receiver in high school if I remember correctly. He hit a major growth spurt and they moved him to DE. He's been wreaking havok but his technique is really not good. That can be corrected and he is an absolute FREAK of an athlete. Plus he's got the coolest name of any of our targets. :peace2:

Coolest name? It's not the kids fault, don't get me wrong. But what is cool about a name that means Islamic holy war against non-believers? Which is the theology which led to 9-11. Just sayin.

Jihad has not always meant that. It's been "hijacked". White Anglo Saxon Protestants called it the "crusades" at one point. Just a diff word in a diff religion in our case. The meaning is" to struggle in the way of Allah" there is a distinction of diff sects of its meaning. Defensive jihad has been its primary interpretation of those who interpret it as a war. Only recently has it been interpreted and used as offensive jihad

If by recent you mean the 7th century then yeah, it is a recent interpretation. Mohammed was not shy about waging war on the infidels who would not accept him as their prophet and converting them by the sword.
