'14 JUCO DT Jihad Ward

Okay back to this kid. Are we still actively recruiting him? Is he a fall back JuCo lineman option?

If by recent you mean the 7th century then yeah, it is a recent interpretation. Mohammed was not shy about waging war on the infidels who would not accept him as their prophet and converting them by the sword.

Except it wasn't called "jihad" back then. It was just a struggle to expand your empire. You had an empire or you had nothing, empires grew through conquests.

If we don't get this kid,it may be in part due to all the amusement some folks are getting with his first name. It's his name, live with it.

Better watch out for the PC police---telling the truth on this particular subject could be dangerous…..:salute:

I'm kind of hoping that we take him, if we can't get Lamin to flip to us. He could be asked to bulk up a bit, to be a DT, or flipped to TE, which is also a HUGE need. He could be a nightmare for SEC defenses to cover (at 6'7"). So, I don't think he'd be a bust, even if he didn't work out at DT.

LV, would you rather go after this guy than Elam? If so, why?

6'7 285

4.6 40

Has been quoted as saying Tennessee was his #1 not long ago.

IMO, I'd roll the dice on this athlete and see how it shakes out.

Also as I stated in another thread, 247 ranks Ward ahead of both Lamin and Reed as Juco DTs. They seem to think the kid can play some ball.

Ward is no longer ranked ahead of those guys on 247. They also have the crystal ball @ 80 in favor of West Virginia with 20% South Florida. All of these things in combination lead me to think there are potential grade concerns and/or the dreaded SEC math requirement could be rearing it's ugly head.

Maybe I missed something. About 20 minutes ago he was rated the #2 Juco DT. Did it change?
