I've yet to understand all the A.J. Hate on this board.
It's called attitude.
I have yet to see/hear of AJ leading by example but I've seen all I want and more of his excessive celebration turf kick and his new ball spin.
He needs to grow up. No one should be celebrating during the game but especially not after routine tackles vs Vandy when your team has a losing record for the 4th straight season.
Lol I hate players that enjoy the game! He shouldn't celebrate good plays! He should spend the entire game crying because we aren't undefeated! Why does he never shed tears after the other team gains a yard?
If he wasn't celebrating you idiots would be claiming he played with no emotion, and that Jancek couldn't get the defense fired up!
Teams / players should celebrate wins.
Losing games and making the most tackles is what UT and AJ have done the last 3 yrs.
Tired of all the energy wasted and actual/potential penalty flags on drawing attention to the fact he actually did his job on 1 play.

So you're hating on AJ for leading the team in tackles?? I'm confused. Your logic makes no sense
AJ plays hard but lacks discipline and leadership.
Leading the team in tackles is also great but tackles 7-15 yards downfield doesn't win football games.
AJ is always trying to make the highlight reel, but I don't see him leading this team. He sets a bad example for the younger guys.

Having Maggitt back would help, IMO.
Maggitt will be huge. He is a huge threat rushing the QB. I don't know who will be opposite him, whether it be Bates, Mouhon, Grant, or Weatherd. Whatever the case, we will have better depth and much better starters. If AJ comes back, he will shine when he doesn't have to take up the slack of the OLBs.

He has his shortcomings does AJ, but you don't just get lucky and magically lead the SEC in tackles. He's second this season.
Some of you thinking we would be "better off" without AJ are the very ones saying we would be better off without Bray and Hunter. Not all of you, but a decent number of folks. We now see how that worked out.
Dude, give it a rest and post about something that you know. I agree that he has things he could work on and the penalty was dumb, but the way you make it sound leaves you looking pretty dumb IMO.
He is the co-leader on the team in TFL's (last time I checked that is not "7-15 yards downfield")
He leads the team in tackles (which he should), and is 2nd in the SEC in tackles.
Sorry that I'm tired of his antics. Sickening to watch an upperclassman celebrate routine tackles during a close game vs Vandy or a butt-whipping vs Auburn.
If you can't see that AJ is a "me" guy by watching him play this year then we can simply agree to disagree.
He has some limitations in his game. I think that is far from leaving a bad example. He plays with heart and passion. What else do you want?
