Robertson is our best offensive lineman. Jackson is the worst SEC guard I have ever laid eyes upon. Crowder is a fighter but just doesn't have any natural talent. By reading this post, I can just take your opinion of Blair and throw it out of the window. redshirting Robertson? hell, he will be a 4 year starter and a first round draft pick.. fact. Please, educate yourself before rambling on about an issue you clearly have no idea about.

IIRC Jackson was impressive as an underclassman. He was ALL-SEC his freshman year.

Seriously? You are going to tell me to educate myself yet you are calling for a freshman to be a 1st round pick in four years based off two games from sub-par opponents...

Yea, if he sucked so much why do you think CBJ purposely redshirted him so he could have him for two more years? Logic would tell you that CBJ sees something special in him to do that or he would have just recruited over him. Don't tell yoda though. Apparently he has an inside track on the 1st rounders for the 2018 draft based on their performances over two games. A real Mel Kiper Jr the second.

He's looked rough these first two games. That left side collapses almost every play.

The entire o-line looks rough. We don't have one starter who could start for any ranked SEC team. That's the only fact in this entire thread. Robertson has potential, so does Thomas, but both needed to redshirt this year like 95% of the freshman OL in the SEC. Thomas has never even played RT in his life and was scheduled to start 2 weeks before the season started, what's that say about our talent at OL? Play calling also hasn't helped our run game. The read option isn't even a threat with Worley at QB. He doesn't posses the ability to hurt you even if he takes off with the ball.

He'd hurt people just fine if he kept it on the obvious ones. He had 30yd of open space on a couple plays today. With our bad OL, he absolutely has to keep it more often or our RB will keep getting hit in the backfield 90% of the time.

We need to let Worley be a QB. He looked great today. We need to set him up in some more single back sets and let him throw the ball without reading the option every play. He's got the ability to win us games with his arm if he continues to throw like he did today.

I agree, if he's not going to keep it, at least let the RB get a running start. Either keep it once in a while to make the defense guess or stop doing the read option and making our rbs start flat footed.

You came strong

We need to employ a fullback. I think a fullback would mix very well with Hurd and Lanes running style.

I could dig it. Not sure why the coaches don't give it a look

The reason they don't try it is because we don't have anyone who can play traditional FB outside maybe Wolf. Downs and Branisel played it some last year, but we just weren't very good at it. The only time I really remember us making a huge play out of a FB set last year was on the 4th down play against GA where we wheel routed Branisel to the left side out of a strong or weak formation. Plus, we run really well out of single back sets with an H-back so that's improvement from last year where we would play shotgun on a 3rd and 1.

haha volnation guys are sooo defensive when it comes to calling them out. But I'm yoda? no no, you guys are just complete idiots when it comes to scouting the offensive-line play. and Jackson, the kid has no feet and is stiff as hell. he was redshirted because they needed an excuse to keep him FAR FAR away from the field. Take this to the bank, Jackson will not be starting by week 6. watch the game, the ish is awful!!

and Blair, who I think shouldve been starting since day 1, is on the bench which again makes me question what the hell is Mahoney doing

Then who will replace him?

Blair isn't very good. You honestly think they would just be holding him back for nothing with such poor play?

You just blew the little cred a guy with no posts could have. Blair takes plays off. Until he can play every down like a starter he will ride the pine. Taking play one off can lose you the game much less slacking on every 3rd play...etc.. Let the coaches do their job and you go do what you do.

letting the coaches do what they do is sure working out bro! we haven't had a run longer than 20 yards. maybe it's bajakian? idk but we can't run the football or protect our quarterback. and Blair taking plays off? has he played a snap? ooooh, ok he hasn't so he hasn't had a chance to take a play off smh. you over here talking about practice!

Really? I thought it looked pretty good with Stockstill running it last year. They don't have to have FB by their name. Just hit somebody.

Our online is awful. That is even more telling that Blair can't even play a snap. It's not even play calling. You're really proving how much you "know."

I agree for the most part, but I've never liked the blind faith in coaches approach.

"If they're sitting him he must be worse than everyone else."

I certainly don't know better than the coaches, but hundreds of college coaches across the country make bad decisions every day (Mason butchering his QB situation, etc...) and not trying new looks on the OL could very well be one of those bad decisions. When something isn't working, it's fair to question why they don't at least try something else. You can't just say that because they're sitting Blair it's definitely the best decision.

He is third on depth chart behind Kendrick, who got beat a ton, and Kerbyson at LT. I mean, surely if they were seeing every rep in practice and seeing how poor the OL is, they would at least give Blair a shot. He's 3rd string for a reason
