A bust means you did not pan out to expectations, that's all.
I have a question for you. What do you think about preharbaugh Alex Smith? He was first overall pick, and he was terrible until his last full season with the 49ers. Then ask about what you think about Smith now.

I don't follow the NFL, so I'm not the one to ask. Maybe my definition is too loose, but one game is definitely not enough to label someone a bust. If Blair goes 2 years without starting, I'll join in calling him a bust.

I'll change my wording then. As of right now, he's a bust. Only because he was expected to be our starting LT as of day one. I don't blame you in not following the NFL; it's going down the toilet.

The only judgements that are final is death and in front of a judge.

Braums hate crimes your girl on a daily basis Doc! :aggressive:...pains me to bear you such tidings, considering my respect for you healing types. :salute:

I respect ice cream of all flavors, colors and manufacturers :)

I am absolutely equal opportunity when it comes to ice cream... :salute:

Doc:

Our former golf pro recently took the same position at Houston Oaks down in Tejas.

I think his favorite thing he has done so far is your the Blue Bell Ice Cream factory. Samples were flowing. You should hit that up.

I'm partial to Mayfield (being from God's Country), but that's some good stuff, too.

Anyways, heard DB likes peanut butter milkshakes.

JC- I was born in Dallas but raised in Memphis starting at age 4. I knew about Blue Bell at a young age. The story goes that Blue Bell and Angel Food (Memphis based) agreed not to compete for a while. Angel Food started declining years ago, and a favorite day in my life was when I was a teenager and Blue Bell started selling in area stores. Our family knew all about it, and everyone else was asking what it was. I actually did a speech in my UT speech class about Blue Bell and FedEx joining together for online purchases. Just wanted to share about the little creamery in Brenham, Texas.

I've been seriously addicted to peanut butter malts for many years but it's getting hard to find a place to get them. After the peanut butter "poison" scare a few years ago everyone quit making them.

Scottie Mayfield is a bit of a prick though. Have met him several times.

Blair is gonna be fine. I'd be willing to bet he's the starter next year. Like a lot of juco guys he hasn't had the best coaching and probably didn't come in in the best shape, it'll just take some time.

While I'm disappointed like most on VN that Blair hasn't stepped up, I'm not all that surprised. Blair has had success at each level he has played. He has used his size and talent to have that success. At the SEC level, you need to be a total package, including outstanding technique. I'm sure he has had to learn some hard lessons up to this point. I'm encouraged that Mahoney sees improvement in his technique. That's a huge step in the right direction. Unfortunately with the Gilliam injury and the lack of depth along the OL, patience is in short supply for Blair. Most SEC OL redshirt their first year just to catchup on strength, conditioning, and technique. We can't afford that luxury this year. If he isn't starting before the end of the season, he needs to find another place to play.

Chad Withrow on 104.5 just said he thought the idea was to redshirt Blair. I know that's not the norm with JUCO EE's, and Blair has been disappointing so far, but it is interesting.

No way. He's in the 2 deep now, I bet he plays Saturday.

I agree at this point because of the injury, but the original plan prior to last week's kickoff was to redshirt.

Ya, that seems possible. Although I think his ceiling is highest on the team, so if he figures things out this year, I think they'd start him no matter what.

Sounds like Blair is too prone to holding calls, and it seems that will not be tolerated at UT under CBJ. My take on the quote above.

If they aren't planning to redshirt him, then he better play some this week.. I don't see any better chance to get his 'feet wet' before we get into the meat of the schedule..

Yep. Play, Red Shirt, or Blair has chosen to leave the team. If we don't see him soon its B or C next off season. Sorry Leb.
