'14 JUCO SG Devon Baulkman

He's that bad?

I wouldn't say he's that bad but D'montre Edwards was definitely a much better Juco prospect. While watching Edwards play it was clear that he could easily score at that level but from my small sample size of watching Baulkman i really didn't see anything special, he was probably the second or third best player on his team imo.

This may have already been posted (t'aint no way Ima readin' 11 pages of this crap) but this was written aobut him prior to last season:

"Devon Baulkman is regarded by many a top 10 JUCO prospect. When you look at the first team all conference along with many other individual accolades on the way its clear he is a no brainer High Major type of guy. The list of colleges on his trail is as long of one as big. Devon is a priority for a lot of great schools across the nation, and his recruitment hasn’t stopped yet.

Devon is a 6’4 SG/W prospect that coaches will be expecting to make an immediate impact from the day he steps foot on campus. He has a great stroke, and scores in volumes. When he is locked in not many in the country can stay in front of him. Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, Troy, Iona, Arkansas, Alabama State, Bradley, UAB and UNLV are a few names going after him right now. No one school is really separating themselves to him right now. He hasn’t set a specific date or time he will make his decision. He wants to take his time with it."

Throw in the fact that he's scored 48 points in a game (I don't care against whom, just doing it once at any level is impressive) and it's hard not to get behind us signing a guy like that.

I can't believe that a Tennessee head BB coach could think he knows more than any of the VN BB experts. How dare him! The VN experts know more about his system and the type players he needs than any head BB coach. JMO

Some nerve, huh?:loco:

I agree that these players will be put into a different scheme and different positions than with the previous staff. Baulkman may or may not be that great, but this staff will open up the floor and at least make it easier for these players to score. When you play a slower pace, you need a couple of good shotmakers or bruisers down low who can bail you out. You don't need as many with a faster pace. The Grizzlies know first hand about this. In the exit interviews, Dave Joerger said that they need a shotmaker to add to the team because of their grind-it-out style/

That's right. And any Tennessee BB coach going forward better remember this forum can and will petition his ass out of here in a heartbeat for whatever reason the forum deems necessary (not winning enough, not being entertaining enough, not smiling enough, not being mean to the refs enough, not being Bruce Pearl enough, etc - take your pick).

I wonder if this is the kid that I saw running down the road in black sweats today. His JUCO is a mile from my house

As long as he wasn't wearing a stocking over his head, I hope so. Early start on conditioning.

I think its the same kid that I see running a few times a week. Ive seen him running for a few weeks now. Always wondered what he was training for.

Not to be offended, but I am sick of the word petition.

Some punk living on my Dad's farm mention it to me once. And I told him where he could put it.

So, regardless of good or ill, I hate any petition. That crap is for punks.
