'14 JUCO TX WR Kameel Jackson (UT walk-on)

Who cares who is better. Just enjoy the fact that we may have a starting 3 WR group of North, Malone, and Pearson, and a 2nd group of Pig Howard, Croom, and Kameel Jackson. Then have a third group of Josh Smith, Vic Wharton, and Johnathon Johnson! :)

Why are we recruiting WR's in 2015 as it appears we are loaded with young talent?

I think we take at least two WRs this class. Always a good idea to take at least two imho.

I agree. Most years you want to take at least 2. With WR being one of the deeper positions numbers wise, just makes sense you may lose more there to transfer/kids going elsewhere than other spots. Always need to keep a couple on the string coming in.

Von and Kameel are JUCOs, so they'll be gone after next season, '15 guys could RS (hypothetically) and have 4 years once these guys are gone or (even better) come in and contribute and get exp so there isn't a drop off when they leave. Reinforce, replenish and reload...that's the name of the game

No matter what the talent level you have at a position, coaches who want championship caliber teams will always try recruit over what they have on campus. Competition breeds champions.

We are having a former Rivals 250 WR walk on to our team to join a WR corp that has gotten the best WR four classes in a row ( including 15). There is just an overflowing of talent at WR.

Would be strange if Kameel ends up being a prime reason we beating Oklahoma. The post game interview would likely be stranger.

This post is full of innacurate info. Both Von and Kameel (if he can make it in) will have more than one season here. Pretty sure Von has at least two seasons here, and Kameel has three if I'm not mistaken.

Jackson may be willing to walk-on, but you would think he would be looking for a scholarship rather quickly upon getting to campus.

With the number of questionable folks we have on scholarship I believe one would be available sooner rather than later. Which class would he be considered a part of also? I'd say with Carr leaving today we'll see at least 3 or 4 more bounce before the season starts. JMO.

Lol. Let me walk you through it.

Von is a RS Jr this season. He has this season (2014) and next (2015) to play unless (GOD FORBID) he gets a med RS. According to Hubbs last year, Kameel would have 2 to play 2. (That's 2 seasons, 2014 and 2015...this season and next) As I said in my original post (take a sec to read it again carefully...go ahead, I'll wait...back? Ok.) both will be gone after next season, that's after 2015. Reading comprehension is important.

blueshirt to the 2018 class or GTFO IMO. How would him getting on campus effect our WR recruitment this cycle? You gotta like him over a lot of guys if you feel confident in his grades. Kid is a player and out to prove something, just needs a chance.

I'd have no issue in taking him. Kid has shown he has the talent to contribute.
