'14 JUCO TX WR Kameel Jackson (UT walk-on)

You likely have North, Croom and Pearson starting. Malone will probably be an initial backup to Croom = he shares an equal amount of reps with him (Croom).

Pig ain't likely to come back and that leaves you with Josh "brick hands" Smith, Jonathan Johnson, and Blanc. Ryan Jenkins might get in the mix if he can ever get healthy, and Bowles has been MIA for the most part.

That is a mighty big gap in talent once you get passed Malone.

Malone is too talented for Croom to keep him off the field.. Pig will be back, plus we will likely have Kameel Jackson.. Croom, Pig,Jackson, Smith, and Johnson.... Yeah you're wrong, that's quality depth..

+Jenkins and possibly Vic

This is what happens when you come into a discussion on the a$$-end. You make statements that aren't even relevant to the topic at hand.

Ya know, after going back and reading this it maps absolutely no sense at all. Both will not be gone after next season no matter which way you slice the pie. 2015 is the season after next. 2014 is "next season" bro. Math is also an important subject.

This year, this season. Next year, next season. It's really not that hard. You're gonna be calling the '14 season "next season" until we play Vandy, aren't you?

No, hes walking on

I'm curious to see if it actually happens. I know the kid really likes Tennessee but you would think that when news breaks that he is willing to walk-on at UT, slot of schools like an ncstate, gt, and others may come in with a scholarship offer. Kind of like the Horky situation. Kid has a lot of talent to end up a walk-on IMO.

I'm not too sure of the rules, but we should have a scholarship to give this fall. Can he walk on for the summer term and be given a scholarship in the fall? I'm thinking he has to be a walk on for a full year.

Can someone please tell me what the hell Butch Jones is putting in the Kool-Aid when these kids visit UT?

My take is The Butch knows he is dealing with a finicky, judgmental, impatient fanbase so is seeking to build an exciting to watch team. If he has a thrill a minute team, he gets breathing space to focus on building a serious defense unit. Then finally have the Vols team we all really want.

Offense is a public high profile and glory friendly unit.
In essence, he's building something to distract the rabid, narrow-minded, and impatient fanbase until he can get the whole job done. Players like jackson are glory hounds to begin with but also hungry when they have missed or squandered opportunities then get a high profile shot to recovery from their foolishness. What better place to go to than the UT with a coach that likes to score, score, and score some more?

I read somewhere they want to have 14 wideouts at all time and rotate a lot. You want to have the best 14 you can find and do not really need someone who is not SEC quality. This is why they continue to recruit and add to the roster. To get 14 outstanding players. They will not all be 5 stars but you recruit and get as good as you can till you get to 14.

Seriously might not be a bad idea on occasion...matchup nightmares all over the place. Spread them out and somebody make a tackler miss and we are gone to the house.

With a questionable OL and a game manager QB, just hit some short quick tosses to the playmakers and let 'em rip. Run enough to make the play action pass effective and hopefully play a little defense. Maybe that will get 7 wins.

it did for ole miss. lots of playmakers, lots of moving parts and youth on OL, a turnover prone qb......just slashed ppl with run game and short throws to playmakers. took a few deep shots every game though
