This is from a Kentucky fan on FB. Y'all ain't gonna believe this nonsense!!! And I quote:

"Bahahaha! #1 in basketball AND football recruiting? Well I'll be....lol, bring it haters, tell me how we'll fall back down the40'a or 50's. Hahaha, it's a new era under a new offense, the Read Option Air Raid. Come be a hero, at Kentucky...WeAreUK! BBN"

He then goes on to release this gem. As I said on the status, it'd be even funnier if it weren't so freaking pathetic....

"It's just going to stay top 5-10 with our top guys turning to 5 stars this fall. Matt Elam, a UK and Bama target (who we're definitely getting), got his 5th star yesterday."

It's just like when they beat us a couple years back, they felt like they had really accomplished something.... But then they were back to the old UK.

how does this cat get a 5 * when UT and a lot of others did not give second look and to jump over 200 spots on 247 is unreal. but I do believe he goes to bama if they want him and uk if bama does not want.

johnny dwight and kalvaraz bessent both got huge bumps right before or after they commited to bama too along with many others

I would actually like to see some of the national recruiting analysts resumes. I tried to look and see if any of the well known analysts played college football or have a coaching history. However, you can't google anything on them because all that pops up are 247/rivals/scout articles.

You are asking the right questions and the reason you don't find the answer is because they are self proclaimed experts and don;t have the experience in any of the things you asked about. Its just a money making scheme.

sadly most of them were likely beat writers who made connections at the right times.

jamie newburg has been around atl for years amd went to UGA i believe.

jimmy hyams (not a recruiting guru) was a beat writer in la i believe and mike griffith as well.

This may have been asked, but why does 247 have him as a 5* and 10th overall player and rivals had him as a 3* and 32nd overall at his position? Someone needs to fire their scout for screwing up huge. One way or the other.

This is correct. He also picked up a Bama offer and was supposedly Bama's top target for NT. A week later he went from a 3star to 5star. I'm not a conspiracy person or believe just because a certain team offers a player that player gets huge rating bumped, but I will say this isn't the first time Bama goes strong for a kid and the kid gets huge rating bumps. I don't think it truly matters though as I believe he'll go to KY in the end. KY has some momentum now and are doing a great job at locking down their state.

Would be funny to see how people react if we get this guy. From "He's not 5* material" to "He's a stud and future 1st round draft pick and worth every star"
