Well I graduated with Charlie and Angela. Anthony was ahead of me by two years and Maggie behind me by one. We camped and played sports together right up until graduation. My folks were at that funeral as well. Hated to hear that.

I think that he chooses UK based on some stuff that's leaked in the last few days. He spoke that he grew up bleeding blue, a UK fan, but soured when Joker Phillips didn't recruit him. When Stoooooooops was hired, they went after Barker immediately.

Also, there's the little thing about him doing a big press conference for his announcement at his high school. If he's really going to South Carolina, he stands a chance to get booed loudly. Why risk that possibility if you aren't going to the in-state school?

There was significant pressure on him to attend UT, and many expected/reported that he was committing to UT. I imagine the pressure on Barker is much tougher, especially since he is so close to Lexington.

This is our top recruiter's main target for this class. We signed a pretty decent quarterback in Connor Mitch last year, so I won't be too upset if he picks UK.

It would suck to be in Barker's shoes right now. Kid supposedly has all kinds of pressure on him to pick UK. If he picks USCe, he disappoints all those people. If he picks UK, well, he has to endure 4 years of being a UK football player. It's a lose/lose situation for him.

Yes my wife's mother was one of a kind. She was truly an unbelievable lady. She will be missed by many Including myself.

I would not be shocked at all if he was cheered by his HS even if he picked USCe. He is a football recruit not basketball. I doubt the 9 or so UK football fans at his HS would make much noise to be honest. I do think he picks UK though.

Funny, most inside information suggests he wants to leave the state. But since the state of Kentucky only has 1 or 2 blue chippers a year he's getting a lot of pressure to stay and give canned responses like the one above.

We will have four QBs on scholarship in the Fall, and they'll all be back in 2014, minus anyone who decides to transfer. I think that hurts us with a lot of QB recruits. Unless they feel they can come in and beat everyone who's already here, that's a long time to wait. If a really, really good one likes us, he may not be turned off by the competition. Or, if we're by far someone's best offer. But, a 4* guy like this who can go to South Carolina or stay in-state and be a local hero is a tough pull, given our roster, IMO. And, the Gamecock fan said they just signed a good QB in their last class too.

But, I'm sure some Cats will come in here and declare a changing of the guard if he picks UK.

LOL at the guy who said UT will have a "super-awesome class" but still be "a ways" away from bring relevant, all while getting excited about UK's current class. If we're still irrelevant despite signing a "super-awesome class," then where is UK?

Either way, I still think we'll end up with a great quarterback in this class. Bama will probably push Cornwell our way so we should be fine.

He has asked to do it at his HS gym and wants a packed house. I will say this, he has some big cahones if he picks USC in front of all those cat fans.

It is either USC or KY and I thought USC but most of the time when a kid says he has made up his mind and a coach visits after that, it is to try to change his mind.
