'14 KY QB Drew Barker

And Cornwell is ranked higher and top 50 player which would make him a better prospect. Either way he's a good qb would like to have him, but it's not happening

He's a consensus top-150 recruit...while I'd agree that Cornwell is probably better, I don't see how one can say he is leaps and bounds ahead.

Do the Bammers have the right of first refusal on Cornwell?

Not with all recruits they don't. With Cornwell they do. If you pay attention to recruiting, it is obvious he is willing to jump through any hoops needed to be the guy bama allows to commit. I think CBJ and staff are doing a fantastic job on the recruiting trail. It's just the way it is right now. Some kids will choose another team over Tennessee as their #1 no matter how much hot sauce the new coaches dump on them. With the bama offers/invites to their QB draft camp this week to Watson and Harris, it is very possible they like other QBs more than Cornwell. It was also mentioned they may take (2) this class and are just setting up to do so.

The point, RetardedElf, is that he is not a "borderline 3/4 star guy". Seems everytime we feel a player is not going to choose Tennessee, the sh!t slingers come out in full force and start sayin' "he's not that good anyways" or "so and so is better anyways". Wish the shi!t slingers would keep their mouths shut! It reflects badly on the fanbase.

I understand that. I apologize that other peoples opinions differ from yours about which prospect is better. As I stated I would love for him to be a vol, but he's loved other schools for far too long to just now realize he's not coming

Make no mistake about it. Had Barker chose to be a Vol, everyone on here would be BOOMING all over the place.

The VAST majority of posters I have read on this site have said for months that they'd rather have Cornwell. But go ahead and paint that picture with the broad brush.

You seem to be under the impression that I think or said prospect A was better than prospect B or vice versa.

MH knows his stuff. No point to bash

Im sorry, you may have missed the post where he threw the kid under the bus called him a borderline 3/4 star guy. It's not coincidence that these guys come out and sling the sh!t after they think the prospect is going elsewhere. :salute:

I apologize then, I was trying to do 2 things at once and misread what you were trying to say

You just misinterpreted. It was just his opinion that Barker is around that level of talent. Personally I agree. It is not throwing him under a bus. Still a good QB. Your opinion may differ and you may be right. But he didn't throw him under a bus by any means

VK, you're lumping Montrell into the wrong group here. He's not your typical "we didnt want him anyway" poster. He's a coach or scout of some sort (not sure exactly) in Ohio and has very well informed opinions on prospects and shares that with VN from time to time. If you pay attention to his posts, he's been money many times.

He's actually seen Barker in person multiple times, IIRC, and has had the same opinion of Barker for awhile now. He's not just now changing his tune because the kid is picking another school.

Ok, by that logic, how do you know he's leaning toward UK? Why even follow recruiting?

Nice straw man attempt. There's a difference between following recruiting and blatantly announcing what's in a kid's mind, which is what your boy Josh did.

All that I have said is that Barker and his family are HUGE UK fans.

Insolence should not be confused with frankness. JMO

Apologies to the board and to Montrell for the display. I'll take my crow raw, please. hah :hi:

And for the record, I don't believe Montrell ever said Barker was a bad QB, just that in his opinion Cornwell is better.
