'14 KY QB Drew Barker

Certainly agree with you regarding schollys for LB, DL, OL and DB, but I think we should sign 1 qb every cycle. Especially when we're in on a guy like Cornwell and we can sign up to 31.

To sign 31 we need to have 7 players leave the team

No. We didn't sign 25 last year plus early enrollee allowances. I've heard the number put at 31 from at least 3 sources. Sure someone else on here will validate and give better specifics.

Remember that a lot of people on here swore we would take 25+ last class as well. "I know we will"! A lot of things do not play out as people claim. I don't worry about how many we can take. Unless someone has heard it right from CBJ's mouth to where he has confirmed how many players he intends to drop to make room, no one has a clue.

Agreed. But the argument was not how many Butch will take, it's how many CAN take. He may like his class and believe he's done by taking 25, 28, 20... who knows. But there is a hard, objective number that the rules say he can take without anybody having to leave the program.

Lol. I was at last years game. Clemson was dominated. It was ugly. Congratulations. I will assure you however that Clemson is improving every year. Even if they weren't I love the town, school and game day atmosphere.

I've never been to a game there, but it is a place I want to go see a game at. Personally, I think Clemson is an awesome college town. I imagine they have an equally impressive game day atmosphere. Dabo is doing a good job there, honestly (that didn't hurt to say as bad as I thought it would ha).

Highly recommend it. Solid family atmosphere. Only been a fan 4 years. Had a friend who took me to every game for 3 years on his extra season ticket. Fell in love with the place.

All of the top players that IT expected to be at last weekend's scrimmage made it out, including quarterback Drew Barker, who was able to put a face with a Twitter name with some players and was shoulder-to-shoulder with Todd Kelly Jr. much of the time at Shields-Watkins Field. The duo talked with coach Jones at midfield before the scrimmage got going. Barker spent some time later in the day with current Vol QB Justin Worley.

We really don't need to sign a QB this. We need all the scholarships as possible for LB, DLine, Oline and DBs

Need QB's in every class. Especially if you can land a top flight QB. Plus being able to sign 31 we have the scholly available to sign one.

Somewhat ironic.

2009--"Wait until Kiffin gets a full class of his own guys. We will be competing for national championships in two years!"

2010--"Man, Dooley does it right. His guys bleed Orange. With guys like Devrin Young and DeAnthony Arnett, we will be back on top of the SEC in no time!"

You left out "He wears orange pants and says, 'shucks'!!!!!"

Dont believe thats correct.

We have 22 seniors

RB Rajion Neal
TE- Greg King, J Ayres
OL- Alex Bullard, James Stone, JaWuan James, Zach Fulton
DLine- Jacques Smith, Cory Miller, M Couch, M Walls, McCullers, D Hood
LBs- D Sapp, Propst, Crump, C Fugate, Brewer
Dbs- B Moore, Naz Oliver, E Gordon
K- Palardy

84 players on scholarship currently

84- 22 seniors = 62 players so we can sign 23 next year to be at 85. I'm assuming Tiny leaves early so that gives us 24 to sign to = 85

From what I understand we are signing around 30 to 31. I'm sure there will be some let go or that will leave after this year.

I've heard several (Hubbs, Coach Matthews, Rucker, etc) all say that based on the fact that we only signed 21 last year and with the early enrollments we have coming in that we are able to backcount, that we can sign up to 31 this year. I see your math and its reasonable, and on the face of it it makes sense. But there's another factor that I can't articulate here, don't recall it, that lets us sign up to 31.... just like TAM did last year. I'll try and find out exactly what it is but I'm telling you, we can sign up to 31.

We can, there just has to be some attrition. But there's some attrition every year, from every program. Normally late spring to early summer. Either they'll transfer out for more playing time, or get kicked off for grades, drugs, or for partying it up at bar Knox, etc.

Enough will leave.

We are allowed to sign 31 but will need some players to leave for that to happen
