'14 MD LB Jerome Dews (UT Commit 6/24)

Well interesting turn of events... Prob best for him so he can stay closer to home in Big Ten and find a favorable depth chart. Our front 7 is going to be loaded in young players after this class. I hate it for him but sounds like he has many more options this year so we aren't just leaving hi with nowhere to go

As someone who worked at Maryland and has some football connections there, I hope he's a Terp if he decides not to become a Vol. Either way, I hope he lands in a spot where he can get playing time and a good education.
I dont want him home so no UMD he has to get out of the DMV

I dont want to give the staff a negative perception, just a lack of communication according to Jerome, and he is the one that has to live with the decision, so I agree we will see what happens

I completely understand. I took exception to LV assuming that the staff had told Jerome no when that didn't seem to be what you were saying. I hope whatever decision Jerome makes works out for the best for him and your family, wherever that may be. We love the information you bring, but don't feel obligated to share anything you don't want to. Again, best of luck to you and your family.

I really hope our coaches didn't slow play Jerome to get him to decommit. I'm a firm believer in a man having integrity. If you make an agreement with someone and they hold up their end of the bargain, then you do the same.
I really dont know what happened, he said let him deal with it Wed, so thats what I will let him do

MDO, its great having you on the board. Appreciate the light you shed with the up close. For a guy like me who is a long time Tennessee fan who likes to come here to stay current with whats going on with the program the kind of insight you bring is incomparable. Thanks.

I'm still shocked and sad. I don't understand what happened. I know things are probably slow for him right now because he was already committed and getting ready to do a prep year and the coaching staff was probably focused on those who weren't yet committed but all this seems out of the blue.

I hope it all works out but to be honest his twitter feed isn't giving me much hope right now (I'm trying not to read much into it though). I really want to see Jerome in orange.

And of course I'll be pulling for Papa and Momma Dews right now.

Best thing for both parties.

For UT - if he wasn't good enough for a spot in the 2014 class, he'll get recruited over in 2015, too.

For Dews - he deserves to be at a BCS program where he'll play.

This is just my opinion and my knee Jerk un-informed gut feeling.

Our coaching staff doesn't allow the communication between a desired player go stale. They pursue player's with a drive like I haven't seen by other staffs. They constantly preach family and sale the university every chance they get.

Maybe this is just a misunderstanding and they took the relationship between Jerome for granted.

Tell her to ignore the idiots. Those are a few jackwads and they definitely do not represent the majority of Vols fans.
she will be fine, I told her she wil have tr o deal with this for the rest of his career, and I know Vol Nation is very passionate about their program
