Mature approach for a 16yr old and speaks well of his character. I'll be pulling for him.

On another but related note, he's doesn't turn 17 for another 5 months. This lad go have a growth spurt any time. Already shows good agility and quickness AND on the right S&C program ... 6'5 -6'6 240-250 is just around the corner.
Time tell but "Coach Rome / Big Baby" may become one of, if not Jones' best prospect eval.

Why on Earth would Butch Jones degrade a commit like that? Just because no one else said it was stupid, doesn't mean they weren't thinking it.

I hope this kid absolutely blows up! Seriously the damned coaches have more at stake then anyone, the talent and success of the players will directly effect their livelihoods! Let's give this kid, who proved himself, and earned a spot, support instead of doubt.

I am use to being ripped for my opinions on here. I was one of the most hated posters I think during the Dooley debacle as I was calling for his head 74 times a day. It does not bother me. It's a discussion board and I like to discuss things. We don't always have to agree. That is what makes it interesting.

A lot of people I think picked up on that early on. I bet I could commit to Tennessee via twitter and it would spread like wildfire. I could also call into a local paper claiming a commitment and there would be a story on it shortly.

It could all play out as legit and the kid is a VOL on scholarship for the 2014 class. Looking more like that is not the case here.

After looking at some highlights, I also noticed he has good coordination, quick reaction to the snap, fantastic field vision, and good pursuit skills. He could also be a special teams asset as a punt blocker. The fact that he is also a receiver tells me opposing QBs might not wish to pass into his area, but I didn't see him dropping into coverage much. Probably because he is too valuable in the pass rush. Overall, he seems to play smart, so I am hoping he can learn to cover, because he could be reliable to get some pick 6s. I second your like.
