I am all for the staff taking the commitment of any kid they think can help win games at Tennessee. Dews threw me for a loop when they took him because our immediate need at LB seemed to point to we needed LBs who could contribute/play early and he was certainly not in that group. Then the GS news came out and while it helped to understand taking him, I still was curious was he better than the 2015 LBs who seem very high on UT as a GS to Dews meant we could take 1 less in 2015.

I'm not sure how it all plays out numbers wise. I think we have 4 spots up for grabs. 5 IF Bryant does not work out.

Seems to be how most think we finish out. IF we lose Bryant & Dews, another LB may be in the cards. IMO Garrett is all lsu.

If Bryant & Dews are lost, could open spot for E Smith. Helps with his brother and may help keep Jones.

I really want Jerome to be here in the fall..I think he is a D1 athlete at more than one position and may have more upside than any commitment that we have now..that said I would encourage him to trip to other schools..just to make sure if we are the right fit for him..like the car commercial says.."shop us first or last" I think very few schools can prepare him for a NFL or other career better than UT

With the numbers this guy is putting up does anyone think he might get a significant bump in rating at the end of the year? I know he is a little undersized but that's not anything a year or two in our strength program cannot fix.

Just Damn!!! Can anyone even slow this kid down??? I really hope he gets here and is wearing orange in the fall. Sometimes it's not all about the measurables but the intangibles and I think Dews is going to be a great player.:peace2:

..... but 1st, let me say I really dispised how many Vol fans game out against him in the summer due to his "star value."

That said, some things don't have me real excited.....

Thanks for the insight 25 post McGee. The staff loves him and I doubt he means they have stopped talking. I would almost bet he was referring to twitter contact. I don't know what the final decision will be but he seems to be a high motor player and loves to play. We will see how it turns out but don't trash the kid on here. He has been all Vol since committing and deserves our support.

Very sad IF the staff is just deciding to stop contacting the kid instead of being man enough to call and let him know what's going on. Very disappointed IF this is what's going on.


This is what happens with recruits that once had offers but should never happen to commits

What about that says the staff hasn't been in contact with him? When recruits say something like that it's because they want more love on twitter.

Exactly. I'm guessing when he says "Volnation" he's referring to UT fans on twitter. Not sure I've heard a recruit refer to the staff as "Volnation" before.

Maybe. Hope so. Under the circumstances I don't believe you are right.

IMO its all apart of telling him we weren't sure where he would play.
