'14 MD LB Jerome Dews (UT Commit 6/24)

Did I dig through 97 pages of blithering? No. I'm well aware of the possible "greyshirt" scenario that has been debated ad nauseam. Whether you want to hear it or not, there are better prospects on the board.

Guess you have it figured out. Someone sign this guy up as a recruiting coordinator. Child please..

I do, obviously. Do I check every single day? Absolutely not. I work and study full time. I don't have time to be going through page after page of every recruit we are after. If it was said that he will indeed greyshirt, then my assertions were accurate and I will move on.

That being said, I suppose that you study to make better grades correct? So why would you throw all these assumptions out here without doing your homework? I'll hang up and listen.

Fair enough. This would have held more credence considering this was posted earlier today and not a few days ago. Furthermore, I read through the last couple of pages, but I did not see where that was posted. Again, I retract what I said and I'll carry on.

last post was a little harsh so I'll take the high road on this one. Let's all just calm the hell down and wait till National Signing Day. Anything between now and then is simply a guess and nothing more. We can all agree that come February we will witness one of the better classes to ever signed with the University of Tennessee. Cheers and goodnight fellows.

Call me crazy...I just see too many similarities (physical and style) between these two to not get excited about his potential.

You’re crazy.

But you’re also right, there are a lot of similarities. But Dews is about where Thompson was. But how big is the kid going to get?

Jamie Collins was recruited as a safety at Southern Miss. He was the best DB one year, the next year he was the team’s best LB, and the last year he was the best DL. Kept on growing.

I think it's going to be fun to see where he ends up. If they are thinking he is going to keep growing, I'm all for the grayshirt. Also, if he's willing, it makes it that much easier. If he redshirts as well, he should be about done growing by then.

For those that lack time or inclination to follow closely I highly advise review of POA's weekly recruiting update. Grade A stuff.

Some posters want to try and act as if they know a lot about our coaches, current players, and every recruit in the Nation. Others realize that recruiting is fluid and every thing will settle out between February and Fall practice.

So does that mean that Mixon hurts our star rating or he's just not factored in?

Just went and did the math. Actually they're not including him in the star rating. We've got 33 commits, but you have to divide our total stars by 32 to get 3.63.

Anybody else find it odd that what most of us think is dew's dad came on here and said he was certainly grey shirting but there has been none of the recruiting services confirm that???

Maybe that was before Butch found a way to take 35? Just let it all play out. It is very clear that we told Dews we wanted him to greyshirt if necessary, so if we need an extra spot, then that is what will take place.
