'14 MD LB Jerome Dews (UT Commit 6/24)

Ffs welcome the kid to volnation and stop being such idiots. If you have a twitter go tell him welcome and represent the t with class. Brian urlachers best offer was New Mexico. You have no idea how good this kid could be. And even if he isn't he is one recruit who just realized a dream. Any1 being rude to him has serious issues.

Well said, sir.

Trust the coaches... This ain't the Fooley Dooley show anymore.

Well, this certainly is an interesting offer. I'm as confused as most on here. But, I think CBJ is a football coach who is looking for football players. His measurables may be inadequate but he did have 14 sacks and was offered after the coaches evaluated him in camp. I'm not going to go negative and trust the coaches here. After all this staff has been able to find those diamonds in the rough before.
WELCOME JEROME!!!

Considering 247 and rivals haven't said anything yet ill lean toward this not being legit. At least one would have verified a commit by now

As I recall many of you that were on VN a few years back were wondering why the staff took Sapp. Probable starter this next season and has been very valuable as a back up and special teams player since arrival. If JD is truly a scholly commit by the time signing day comes around he will be at least a 2 and maybe a 3*. Chill.

10:30 at night seems to be an odd time to commit...

but what do I know, maybe it happens a lot?

I wouldn't say Sapp was worth the scholarship to this point. I may have a different opinion after this season but 4 years is a long time to wait for a scholarship offer to pay off.

I've got 20 on it says he committed via CBJ's voicemail. Noone actually answered the phone. I'll wait for confirmation before going into cardiac arrest.
Well Sir you just lost your 20, all you good Vols fans that say you dont want him, obviously are not among the the Vols Coaching Staff so your opinion of him is irrelevant, and to answer some of your related questions, that 5.47 was ran as a freshman at a Nike camp, he ran 4.6 at the Vols one day camp on the 15th of June, and was clearly the best OLB at the camp according to your beloved Vols Coaches, so i say to you fine gentlemen lets this play out and then have your opinion when it is all said and done, thanks for your ear! (Speaking of Jerome Dews of course!)

Also even if he were to end up on scholarship this year I really don't see the big deal. I have no problem with a project or 2 in every class, it is when you start taking a bunch of projects that issues arise.

I have no issue with projects and you never know how they will turn out. With that said, I would much prefer we took kids from Tennessee as those projects. Bruno was a prime example. Ty Jobe is another. Maybe it works out and maybe not. If we are looking for players who are borderline SEC, who we could bring in as projects, there are plenty of local Tennessee kids to pick from.
