The legend of Fergy is unrivaled right now. Raw practice footage of Fergmeister reportedly sold the Nation's second best receiver.

Lol

In all seriousness the staff needed something to lessen the worry about our future at QB. Fergy was the only unblemished option.

IMO way too many people are writing Dobbs off. He was a difference maker in the running game and true frosh very rarely show well in the passing game anyway.

From my seat our QB stable has two potential elite studs in it

No doubt it did! Otherwise why would Malone mention a redshirt Freshman that has never seen the field FIRST when he talked qb's here?

Good thoughts. i agree.

nah, it wont matter till Oklahoma

I don't think the games proceeding Oklahoma well lend to a starting Worley being benched. If Worley starts the season, he will probably look pretty good against Utah State and Arkansas State, which means he will then start against Oklahoma. The decision to start Ferguson needs to made going into fall practice, if it is the correct choice.

Yeah if Ferg was going to start the games "that matter" then why wouldn't they have him out there for the first couple of games to get him some experience against lesser competition instead if just throwing him in to the wolves. That doesn't make much sense to me.

I just think they start with Worley due to senority more than anything else then maybe game 2 somewhere in game they make the switch and its on like the kong de donkey

If Ferguson is truly as good as rumored and the staff believes he's the future at QB I have to believe he starts game 1. He'll need the game experience vs. Utah State and Ark State if he's going to be the QB the rest of the season.

Personally, I'm still not counting out Worley or Dobbs winning the job just yet, long way from August. Hopefully someone separates themselves in spring so they can get the majority of the 1st team 7 on 7 in the Summer and 1st team reps in fall camp. We need our best QB to have worked with North, Malone, Pearson and Pig as much as possible.

My thing is when I saw Ferguson play in the scrimmages he looked the worst of all the QBs but apparently he is on the All-SEC practice squad. Anyone can look good with pads and shorts on. I'm with you on this one don't count out Worley and Dobbs. I honestly believe that we run into the same problem with Ferguson that we have with Worley being neither are dual threat.

Thats why you start Fergs day 1 to get him a few games under his belt. Really don't see Worley starting but who knows. Riley is the most talented QB and has the most upside. Just hope he lives up to it. Definitely the strongest arm and probably has equal or more mobility than Dobbs. Still pulling for Riley to win the job.

I doubt he looked the worst of them if he was ahead of Dobbs before he got hurt. Yes Riley is a Dual Threat type QB. Watch his SR Film. Dobbs wasnt listed as a DT QB either. Riley is at worst on the same running ability as Dobbs and possibly more and Riley actually has a strong arm.

Really didnt mean to get this thread off topic, just pointing out the fact a lot of recruits have been talking about Ferguson. Back on topic Scott would be a really nice addition to this class and looks we are in good shape as of now.

Riley is as much if a dual-threat as Dobbs is.

Yeh people dont realize how mobile riley is. He certainly can run, sramble and extend plays. But i could care less about that. We need to be able to throw the football. We have a stable of wr. Riley has a strong arm, and just as important, accuracy. That will open up our offense and running lanes for hurd, ect

Stable of WRs? If by stable you mean 4 once Pearson and Malone get on campus then I'm with you.
