I like Scott and James but you can't go wrong with any combination that includes Scott, Paulk, Hurd and then Marlin Lane as a Senior

I really do like James, but depending on what happens with Paulk, they seem similar type of backs to me. I think the difference in Paulk, Hurd, and Scott is big enough for us to utilize all 3

Look at our RB depth now. RBs don't need to have different styles. Paulk and Hurd have similar styles(downhill, slashers) they are just two different sizes. I continue to say we need 3 backs in this class. Neal got every carry yesterday with Lane out. Lane will be back next year and he gets hurt every year. Taking only two backs means we know neither will get hurt.

I gotcha. I agree, although I would say any quality back added to the duo of Hurd and Paulk will be solid.

It's a good problem to have no doubt

Any new info on Scott?

"Nothing yet brother. I know he had to get back because Havelock plays Swansboro this Friday night. I will be surprised if he wasn't amazed with everything he saw this weekend. And I'm telling you if we added him and Malone to what we have already got on the hill and have committed look out. Exciting times for sure. Scott is a player."

Ok, I'll be 'that guy'...

What's the difference between Scott and Rollins? It's not size (Scott is an inch taller at a similar weight). It's not productivity. Ok, it may be speed. Rollins is FASTER.

Yet Scott is a 5.8 4star and Rollins is a 5.2 2 star. I don't get it.

247 says he is favoring South Carolina at this point. Does anyone think we need to play a really good game against SC to give us an edge for him?

It might, but it would be difficult. They have led for him for at least two years. Havelock is sort a pipeline school for them.

Watch the film.

It is easy to see that Scott's upper body control, cut back ability and ability to make defenders miss is on another level compared to Rollins. Scott is very elusive...looked like best player on field in most of the film I watched.

Rollins is fast, but plays upright and seems stiff compared to Scott.

Ya know what --- you're right. I've watched film for both of them before but never back to back. The Scott kid breaks ankles. He has some serious moves. Reminds me of the Elder kid from Ensworth last year. Rollins outruns a lot of people but he doesn't have Scott's elusiveness.

Thanks for the evaluation. :hi:

I'd take James on athleticism... Wouldn't turn down Scott tho

Just reminding everyone, Kendal Vickers was his teammate last year in HS. Hope that helps us out...

Size does not count, it's how you use it that matters.

I noticed Gillispie is recruiting him. Not saying CRG needs help recruiting this kid but it might not be a bad idea to let Thig help out too. He has a lot of ties in NC from playing and coaching there. Plus he's helped lock up about half or more of our current commits.

Also, how nice would it be to pull this kid with J Graham recruiting him to fsu? :the_finger: J Graham

Kinda runs like Reggie Bush when he was at USC.

Really good change of direction, stopping ability, and acceleration.
