My phonics are poor. Is it Derrell as in: "This is my brother Darrell and this is my other brother Darell"?

Or

Derrell as in "Duh-rail"?

Not that it's important but it's late and I ponder many deep thoughts at this time of night.

“It was good. I really enjoyed it[.] “I didn’t really know what to expect, but it was better than what I thought (it would be).”

“(I liked) the atmosphere and just, like, how hard they fought and the energy the team played with throughout the whole game,” he said. “Even when they were down, I mean, they kept their energy up and just kept playing hard. That really caught my attention.
“I mean, everything was a highlight, but I would say if I had to pick, like, two things that stood out the most, I would say those two.”

“I mean, they’ve always been there, and then me and Coach Gillespie’s relationship got better,” Scott said. “And then, eventually, I just decided to go down there and check them out, and I really liked it. I would say (I like) just the tradition and everything — all of the legends and stuff that came out of that school — and then, on top of that, the chance to play early.”

“My first impression was I really like them,” Scott said. “They seem like all good guys and all about family. They basically were telling me that I have a chance to come in and play really early, and they don’t have a guy like me on the roster. They just really want me.”

Sorry y'all. I'm slacking today.

Scott said that UT, USCe, tOSU, and NC State are the schools still in the race. He wouldn't say SC was his leader, but he acknowledged that they've been there the longest recruiting him. He spoke to Kendal Vickers while on his visit, who spoke highly of UT. He does not know when he will decide.

I don't think we get this kid. He could be the 3rd RB for our class or the only RB taken in the usce class.

I don't think Scott is the third RB. With Paulk's injury, he may not make it in this class. With Hurd's injury, the belief is he will be ready, but it might take a while. JRM's shoulder issue seemed to hinder his early development since he was enrolled but sat out in the spring and he is really just bow starting to hit his stride. Really, Scott is the only healthy Vol RB commit if he committed and I think Paulk may enroll in January of 2015 (it would help him not burn a redshirt year while trying to recover from the knee injury and it would help the Vols open another spot for 2014). Scott is pretty important for the Vols.

He would prob only play behind Davis for one year. Davis could very well be the no. 2 RB coming out next yr behind Gurley. Not saying it will happen but it could. Kid is a stud..

Scott #1 by a long shot. Not sure Judd is a take given his performance this year.

Judd's been injured some right? Still though, his stats haven't been great. I'd like to add another HS RB to the mix, but the coaches seem to want a JuCo guy to contribute immediately.

He's not going to compete with Mike Davis for snaps. Not many other RBs in the country would.

It's not just Davis

Their #2 is Shon Carson 5'8 219 RSSo 4.4 speed (5.7 rivals)
Their #3 is David Williams 6'1 192 Fr 4.4 speed (5.8 rivals)

If rosters have anything to do with it I think he may look more at the OLines. They have 1 senior and essentially we have all 5 starters potentially moving on to the NFL after this season. According to rivals they have a mix of talent in the 2 deep, 1 high 2 star, 2 low 3 stars, 2 mid 3 stars, 1 high 3 star, 3 low 4 stars, and 1 mid 4 star. One senior, 3 RS juniors, 1 RS sophomore, 4 RS freshmen, and 1 true freshman.

USCe is #3 in the conference in rushing but only 14 ypg ahead of us at #7. Our avg per attempt is higher than theirs but they've rushed 30 more times than we have, probably mostly attributable to Shaw.

I don't know how this will play out. I don't think there's any really good clues in our favor other than our staff, our facilities, our amazing atmosphere, our incoming class, the battle of Bristol, hostesses, tacos, etc. We'll just have to wait and see if the young man makes the right choice. I don't know if us beating USCe this week will make any difference but somebody should tell him if he goes there he'll never celebrate a victory over us. Fact. :)

If we pull off the upset against South Carolina this Saturday, it only helps us here IMO. Will be a tough pull, but I think we can get him in Orange nexf year!
