'14 OH DE/LB Joseph Henderson (UT Signee 2/5/14)

Look at our DEs currently, then look at this recruiting class. Why would we need a Juco DE in two years? Just fill that spot with a '16 DE. He's not needed at all.

You can never have enough DL. You can't count people before they even get on campus. Planning ahead has never hurt a soul.

Did it ever come out what actually happened that he got in to UT and then oh wait no he didn't?

Did someone take the test for him and they found out?

We are moving past the need for many jucos. Occasionally when there is a top talent you go for them. But when the roster is built right, there is minimal need. So, good luck to Mr. Henderson. Hope he gets his academics in order and balls out with another program at some point.

I wanted to see how this cat developed. Just wanted one live rep on 3rd and long to see his explosion. Oh well. Good luck to him.

Perhaps losing Henderson is the reason coaches began recruiting another DE. I thought we was done this year with Butcher, Ford, Taylor, and Jackson. However, coaches really want Phillips. I suppose Phillips is big enough to turn into a DT, and perhaps Jackson will end up somewhere else.

His test score was flagged, which means either the NCAA or the people in charge of the test found some reason to question the integrity of the test score. And it might have been a situation where everyone at his particular testing site was flagged, or it could be a matter of his test score improving significantly from the previous time he took it. Scores can be flagged for a few different reasons.

From what I understand, Henderson needed to make a score that was relatively close to the score he previously made to be cleared, and I guess he fell short of that score when he retook the test.

Henderson will have to find a new home for now, so I don't think it's very likely that he will end up going back to Tennessee, unless something changes.

when he didn't get necessary score this time he became a non-qualifier. Juco bound most likely. Tennessee not likely to go back after him..

Strange he got into october without finding out initial test not good for sure. Really weird.

Seems weird he made it past the NCAA clearinghouse to begin with, but it is what it is. As Leb says, need to free spots anyhow.

So does this year count against him? Did he redshirt this year or what? When he goes juco has he already burned his redshirt year?
