'14 SC DT Poona Ford

It's back open...I guess they closed it while they cleaned up the discussion.

They only want updates on the players over there. As soon as people start discussing depth chart or where the kid might go they go nuts.

I was having fun arguing!

One of the many reasons their board sucks.

This is great news IMO. If distance is a factor at all at least TN is within driving distance.

C2P do you think Poona prefers the SEC over the BIG or do you think it matters to him?

Not referring to Poona in particular but I dont know what some of these southern kids see in the B1G when you are in the middle of SEC country. I know it is very small minority that consider going up there to play in that league but the quality of football is completely different and outside of Wisconsin the gameday environment in the B1G sucks compared to the big-time schools in the SEC.

Also, there is not a better defensive line coach in the country than Stripling. Look at the guys he has put into the NFL during his career. It is absolutely ridiculous.

C2P are South Carolina and Ohio St really that big of threats for Poona. Sounds like he is almost ready to commit to the Vols!

Ohio State might be.....SC is a distant third as of now. I said over a month ago if OSU/FSU came into the picture it might throw some things off. I also said I thought OSU would...but FSU wouldnt. UT still leads and is #1.

Man I hope they can close the deal on him to keep the momentum going. To think what Stripling could do with him.

C2P, Make sure you tell Poona what Montrell just said… Stripling is the best defensive line coach in the country.

Not sure if any dline coach has put more guys in NFL in past 5-8 years than Stripling. As far as commitment goes, still not sure. He has seen UT twice, SC three times and knows what both have to offer, as earlier stated OSU is the wild card. He has seen OSU once but not as a "true recruit" and hasn't seen it all. If he commits soon, I still wouldnt be suprised, but it might only be known about by the Vol staff until the end of spring football. My guess right now is that he camps early June at OSU, then UT, and maybe....maybe SC and makes his decision shortly after that. Hopefully that makes sense. He making sure he has done all his research because once he commits, he's a kid that will be as locked of a commit as possible and wont sway from that school. I know he is extremely comfortable with UT, the coaches, tradition and fan base....more-so than anyone else.

Awesome info and makes a lot of sense C2P.

I could see why Poona wants to stay open at least publicly through those camps just to make 100% sure he is making the right decision.

Really hope he is a Vol in the end though, because he is one of our top needs in this whole class!:good!:

Will he EE?

Some districts have certain policies where classes such as English 12 are required for graduation. Although you could take English 11 and 12 bith your jr. Year, most kids are not thinking that far in advance when scheduling classes at end of soph. Year
