'14 TN ATH Vic Wharton (UT Signee 2/5/14)

IMO zero recruits should ever be promised a number. If that is what puts a recruitment over the top then that's not the kind of kid you want on your team(not saying that Vic is that way).

Numbers should be given to upper class men who have paid their dues at their choice. Incoming kids should get the left overs.

Promising numbers leads to teams knowing that some players are "bigger" than the team and that isn't worth it in recruiting.

I remember on my high school soccer team as a freshman I asked for #10. My coach immediately said stfu here is #12. I said, yes sir. Not comparing the situations, just agreeing with your point.

Didn't Peyton, the great Peyton Manning have to switch numbers? It's a freakin' number for goodness sakes. Make your name as another number.

Get home to find a melt down in the Vic Wharton thread. L of M for sure. IMO Butch is sending him on a trip (that ND is paying for I might add) to land Bars! Butch gets it and Vic just gonna Vic!! Bars is gonna Blue shirt...we gonna sign 40!

This. Vic probably gave him permission to share the info because he didn't want VN to freak out. Too late for that though.:)

If you are talking about the trip to ND I can certainly agree.

I very seriously doubt he wants VN to know this all about a number and the the coaches lieing to him

Yes Bruin. That's exactly what I'm talking about. Feel free to fix my post with that specific detail:p

After how I saw the way he acted in public at the Williamson County Fair last summer, I'll be shocked if he lasts 4 years wherever he goes.
