Not all prospects look at their college decision process through the same filter as do we fans. agree 100% - if we only took recruits who are diehard UT fans we would be fielding a really crappy football team - I cannot play D1 linebacker (or D3 linebacker for that matter)

Mom works hard and loves her kid (obviously). Its kind of apparent that she wants her son to be prepared for life after football. The answer lies within the her son, not which University he attends. Vandy couldnt make one of the 4 recently arrested any more prepared than UT could with Nukeese.

Gut. But I know the bs he has been selling, and with all this stuff coming out and getting uglier, a good parent will question the leadership from the coaches and the srs, given the latest developments and more to come.
The things he has hooked her on look like complete bs right now. He can't promise her that he even has a job next year right now.
It wasn't like that a month ago.

Does the whole rape scandal tweak Barnett's interest in Vandy or his Mom's?

"He wants to be a Vol. Hopefully, his mom is paying attention. It certainly does not help Vandy's cause. I personally think either sooner or later, he will be a Vol but I guess anything is possible."

If I were an "insider," which I'm not, and
I was offering predictions based on information that is subject to the infamous whims of teenagers, I would leave myself an out because 1) what teenagers do is inscrutable and 2) those who bring good information here, which is sometimes right and sometimes wrong, get lambasted for being wrong by the same people who covet their information during the process. I think it was Eddie Lacy who planned on being a Vol, had told people he was a Vol, and, when he sat down to pick the UT hat, felt like God wanted him to pick Bama. I'm not sure how much fun these boards would be without people who know, or claim to know, the recruits, players, and coaches or those who spend a lot of time following recruiting, etc.

The Goat told us no way Malone would come to UT. It was over. Now, look at the Malone thread.

Don't get upset with others when you give inside type info and it changes. You were upset cause people questioned you. Now, you are giving someone a hard time about inside info. Not sure who is insider or not but it would be a worthless board without your info and others. If it doesn't work out the way predicted, who really cares about if it was good or bad info. Because we will never know.

Just keeping it real.

Things do change.
