Barton Simmons is saying that Barnett's mother is definitely pro-Vandy and she's wanting him to end it soon. He's pro-UT and wanting to hold off. Also says that she's a single mother and distance is DEFINITELY a factor.

Barton's comments were after talking to a BA asst coach so it is safe to say Franklinvol and our local VN guys aren't trolling because they have said this the whole time

Simmons also believes that Kelly and Bates are really pro-Candy. He believes every player is pro-Candy and that all mothers love them too.
Barnett's mother most likely wants her son to be happy with the college he chooses. She knows that it's his future that he will be playing for and that he will not play up to his potential if he's not happy. Also, I have to believe that his mother has heard about the player problems at Vandy and that there has to be some leadership issues both on the staff and on the team.
I can understand Barnett's mother thinking a degree from Candy would be nice but I also believe she has been around football enough to know that Tennessee will provide a better future for her son than Candy.
Bart Simmons is really the one that is pro-Vandy!

Edit: Out of 27 Crystal Ball predictions 23 are picking Tennessee (including Simmons) and only 2 picking Candy.

Distance? Knoxville's 3 freakin hours away. I know he's 20 minutes from Vaginabilt now, but she's not gonna be going to class with him. I could understand if he was wanting to go to Florida or the West Coast or something.... then distance is a factor. But not an easy 3 hour drive. Just sayin.

Plus, if it wasn't for Clay Travis, Simmons would take sole possession of Franklin's rectum.

Given the timing of the scandal that is currently hovering over Vandy's football program like a black cloud, I just don't understand how any parent can have confidence in the message that James Franklin is selling.

Derek looked great tonight. His speed is obvious and at his size it is pretty amazing. BA put a beat down on MUS 36-7 and it wasn't really that close.

Oh, and Derek isn't going to Vandy.

Vanderbilt was just named #5 most dangerous campus not long ago as well.

He was double teamed a lot last night. He did not look overly impressive either. He did not look as big as he is listed. Good not Great. The Sawyers kid at Ensworth is a game changer. Wish we could convert him.
