It sure seems like the buzz about Tn being in great shape has slowed here with Barnett.

Certainly seems like vandy is going to be a tough opponent to win with mom really buying into the academic sell job that CJF is pitching.

Many times the perception that vandy academics has is very hard to overcome. Hopefully that won't be the case here but it appears to me that the academics side to this recruitment is a factor!!

They hired Kiffin.

Haden's not Mike Garrett. I think they make a good hire.... Snakehead might be a good fit out there but he's gotta be way down the list. 18-13 record at Vandy is historic but he's only beaten 2 teams with winning records and no Top 25 teams. Gotta believe they get with someone with a much better track record and history of success. Would love to see his classless arse out of the SEC and Nashville. Be interesting to watch.

Agreed. I think Sark is the guy. The only reason Haden might move in another direction would be to give some separation from the sanctions they received during Sark's time there. He's run a clean program at Washington, though. And he has a great staff.

He gets the job.

Of course they are just talking heads and don't know squat, but guys talking on the radio thought that USC would want to move away from anyone that has been there in the recent past. They want a fresh face, even if Sark has succeeded at UW. Will be interesting.

I hear ya. I would love to have him on board but I'm glad we are in on some other guys that appear to be as good.

Disagree with this with the new stadium, and the coaching staff he has put together. They have a very legitimate shot against Stanford and Oregon, and winning one of those would be a big step forward for the program. Especially when you consider the alternative is a job at a program that still has sanctions for 2 more years

You may be right. However, I think the opportunity to coach USC will be too much for Sark to pass up (if he gets it).

Maybe the thing to watch is the trickle down effect. If they hire a college coach, then other decent jobs will come open.

Yeah, it's always fun to watch the dominoes .... USC, Texas, and whoever else fires their coach.

Do you freak out if there isn't weekly news on a kid? There isn't buzz period around Barnett. It's the same as always been. Barnett wants to be a Vol and just wants mom 100 percent on board

I think Lane Kiffin may have finally given Tennessee one last gift. James Franklin is one hell of a snake oil salesman and the absolute lifeblood of Vandy recruiting. His name being in such hot consideration for the newly open USCw job can't be helping Vandy out in battles like this one.

USCw is Del Rio's to take or turn down first, IMO.

I have felt this way for a number of weeks now. This is a 50/50 at best for us IMO. If that's freaking out then so be it but its been my stance for awhile now.

My understanding is that Haden wants a coach with NFL experience. It sounds like the "USC guy" angle is a little overblown.

If this were next year, I could Kliff Kingsbury getting a ton of attention. Young, energetic, charismatic players' coach with an exciting offense. With the right defensive staff, he could do well. I don't think he'd do his alma mater dirty though.

If that is the case here, she possesses extraordinary tunnel vision to be able to overlook that thunderhead of a scandal looming over Franklin's program. So much for the credibility of that "I-will-be-a-second-father-to-your-son" argument.

He's got one of the better teams in college football this year after inheriting Willingham's disaster

Thus far he hasn't made any improvements other than between years 1 and 2. The jury is still out right now on this year.

He was 26-25 before the start of this year. You can put a lot of the blame on CTW, but it is still relevant that three straight 7-6 years in the PAC12 and no better than third place in the North division is not an impressive resume.

Haden said yesterday on Dan Patrick he wants a guy that has college HC experience. If true that excludes Del Rio and Fisher (not that he was ever a candidate).

At one point, he also said that he 100% supported Kiffin and that Kiffin wasn't on the hot seat.

Briles is a TX guy...Briles won't be going to USC...
he may be a candidate for the TX job though when it officially comes open...

I could def see briles to Texas

I believe Briles is too old for that job. I think Texas will try to get younger and 'hipper'. Muschaump has a great job and I think it's unlikely he leaves FL.

Don't discount Kliff Kingsbury to TX.
