I believe Briles is too old for that job. I think Texas will try to get younger and 'hipper'. Muschaump has a great job and I think it's unlikely he leaves FL.

Don't discount Kliff Kingsbury to TX.

I said this a couple weeks ago, and somebody dogged me on it because he had only coached two games at the time. But he has been an OC with several high scoring teams. I definitely could see that happening

Mack Brown and his job as head coach:

Dramatic ... but accurate.

His situation has a weird Fulmeresque feel to it. The game has passed him by and he refuses to step aside gracefully.

Maybe Texas will do him a favor and fire him. He'll get into the College Football Hall of Fame before he irreparably damages his reputation and this will TOTALLY be like Fulmer. :)

It's very Fulmeresque. With the news of DeLoss Dodds retiring as AD, it's clear that the writing is on the wall for Mack Brown.

Mack Brown is the new Fulmer without a doubt. Brown took over a traditional power that had underachieved for years just like Fulmer (though Majors had the program on a solid trajectory). Brown has had one of the most talented teams in the country nearly every year just like Fulmer (until the end of his tenure). Brown couldn't beat OU regularly just like Fulmer couldn't beat Florida regularly. Brown won one national title and probably should have won one or two more just like Fulmer. Brown is an old school gentleman in the new world of college football dominated by sociopathic head coaches who enjoy championships for a few minutes before concentrating on moving on to the next miuntain to scale rather than coasting like coaches used to be able to do after winning a title and Brown has not adjusted his mindset and work ethic just like Fulmer. At the end of the day, I would rather have a solid representative of the university whom also wins at a consistent level like Brown and Fulmer (I hope like CBJ) but I am starting to wonder if it is really possible in an era dominated by pricks like Saban, Meyer, etc., for nice, good guys to win. David Shaw is the only one that comes to mind right now.

Did Barnett go to the Vandy vs Mizzou game? If so, that's a good sign for us.

Funny story. I went to the mizzou game. A nice night in Nashville... I was leaving walking down the road and walked under a tree branch hanging over the sidewalk. Hanging on that branch was a lanyard with a name badge. The name on the badge was Derek Barnett. No kidding! Two kids grabbed it after I walked by it. I stopped and did a double take. He obviously did not want to keep it. May be a good sign for us! GBO!!!

Is this really true?

Vandy is currently 0-3 in the SEC, with Georgia, Texas A & M, and Florida looming on the immediate horizon. They are squarely facing the prospect of a magnificent 0-6 start in the conference. So much for the miracle-working status of James Franklin and his program.

Have to admit I was rather baffled to see Franklin's name pop up in several articles about the USC coaching search along with the likes of Jeff Fisher, Gruden, Jack Del Rio, Kevin Sumlin, Steve Sarkisian, Chris Petersen, and Pat Fitzgerald.

Guess I don't appreciate the hype that surrounds one season above .500 in two years and only beating two programs with winning seasons (both went 7 - 6) during that period.

Exactly.

This is what I've been saying for two years. That joker has been running smoke and mirrors over there, beating the dregs and fallen giants like Tennessee, and not having to play anyone worth a crap in the West.

Go ahead... rub a bit more of that Franklin Snake Oil on ya, and tell me how you smell.

Picture or it didn't happen........

😳😊 JK

If Barnett wants to play college football and is serious about his career, I see absolutely no logical reason that he would consider Vanderbilt at this point.

This is more about Franklin than Vandy. Franklin's mouth has written A LOT OF CHECKS over the last 3 years. Its time for his a$$ to cash them. Vandy is Vandy. Football will never be as important to them as it is to us. I hope Barnett can see that.

Seems a bit outlandish IMO.

Why in the he!! would any true Vol fan go to a Vandy game unless they were playing the Vols? That is a disgusting thought that a Vol fan would do that!
