That first game was so deceptive. It looked like we were going to be a force on defense, then the rest of the season happened.

Sorry I said that wrong. On his show today he said Barnett made a big play yesterday

I think Barnett and Hendrix both have the size and athleticism to be able to rush the QB and hold the edge against the run. Something we've sorely missed IMO.

Yeah I compared his skill set to a Carlos Dunlap from Florida. Big agile end who can play with power. I liked Barnett a lot coming out. And he's nasty too.

There were tons of signs in that game, but I chalked them up to a new system and first game problems.

AJ looked confused on assignments, B. Moore was confused and in bad position.

There was a lot of chaos on defense that game, but this was Dooley's coming out season, and we gave the benefit of the doubt. :no:

Those will be good days. Offenses won't get any plays to "rest" cause it will be a constant exchange of fresh DL bashing them in the face. Good days indeed.

I watched Derek play throughout high school at BA. He's one of the nicest gentleman you would ever meet off the field. Soft spoken and extremely polite. Put him on the field and it's like flipping a switch. He'll hit your mother in the mouth if she's on the other team and won't think twice about it. He has a mean and nasty streak between the lines. It's amazing to see. I don't know how long it will take him to adjust and be SEC ready but he is an extremely hard worker so I doubt it's very long and when he does adjust we will all be glad he's a Vol.
