I disagree. I think either can handle 3 or 4, but I may want Looney at the 3 anyway. That's what he'll be in the NBA, and there's no reason they can't share PT. My answer may not be right, but I think we can make it happen in the unlikely event that we land both.

Any coach worth his salt finds a way to play his most tallented players at the same time. Got lots of good guards, go small and play only one big. Better bigs then play large. Its not like Black and Looney are 7' centers but even LSU made that work with ONeil and Stanley Roberts. Lots of different ways to make out a lineup.

I agree that looney would likely be more suited for the 3 and Black the 4, at least on offense.

Lastly, we've speculated that we expected that five star Leron Black would be making his visit the weekend of the Georgia game, on Oct. 5, and that's looking more and more like it's written in stone at this point. Current speculation has the Vols in a three-team race with Illinois and Baylor here. That's a strange trio on the surface, and makes the thought of landing Black a realistic one. Scuttlebutt continues to suggest that Illinois may be the team to beat at the moment, though Tennessee is absolutely a large factor at this point.

So we're still the last visit, and he moved it back to the Georgia game.....

Idk guys, I'm starting to think Tennessee may be a VERY real player in this one. If he makes it out of the Illinois visit uncommitted I think we may end up getting him.

Crosses fingers that happens.
Austin, Cornish, Cofer, Turman, and Black and I think 4 of the 5 played in the EYBL iirc.

Not to discredit Baylor or anything, but he decommited once and when he did I'm sure he was positive it wasn't the school for him. I think it's Illinois or Tennessee. JMO

I agree. I saw a stat about guys who decommitment, and attend that school still ultimately....it was a very low percent.

I am with you that it's Illinois/Tennessee...if he visits I like our chances.

And unlike Looney I think Black enjoys the attention and the Georgia game is going to be rocking! I'm thinking we have a real shot to get at least Looney or Black!

I think Ware is a better player. He was the 6th man on the National Champions and is a lock down defender. If he was on our team he would have started.

Both are good players, but Richardson has him beat in the offensive categories, and it's hard to say that Ware is definitely a better defensive stopper.

Yeah I do agree with this. Though, Richardson is one heck of a defender and there are very few players who hustle more than him.

You guys are downplaying Richardson's abilities. Richardson HAS ALREADY done more than Ware across the board except for 3-point shooting. Ware is at 40%+, and Richardson obviously isn't.

I'm not discrediting Richardson, I just think Ware might be a better player. I'm still very content with Richardson and how he's produced offensively and defensively.

His official visit to Illinois starts tonight, so will be interesting to watch this one over the next few days. If he makes it out of Champagne uncommitted, and remains on track to take his OVs I really like our chances.

Ill wait for it, or wait for other people to say it. Leroy isn't the most reliable...John Martin spoke with Black's mother and she said she didn't think he'd be committing so...

If he does though that wouldn't be the least bit of a surprise...keep working on Looney and IMO make henriquez a priority as well.

I was hoping this was another wrong story from Watson, too, but here's a story from Illinois with quotes from Black.

Yup it's official now....well rats.

It seemed to be looking likely though, hopefully Looney makes it out of his duke visit uncommitted but I think it's gonna turn out the same too.

I would definitely turn up the heat on Henriquez now.
