"I've been talking to him for a while," Black said. "They just recently called me after I de-committed and said that I do have an offer. We talk every once in a while. He's [Jones] a real cool guy."

What does Black think about Rick Pitino's program?

"They are one of my most recent offers and I love the program - the way they run," Black said. "They're real nice people over there. They won the national championship this year so that's a big plus for them."

This was from an article posted 4 days ago in which he said he meant to put Louisville in his top group. It sounded like he wasn't sure if he had an offer or not. He's been talking to AC Wyking Jones who reassured him that he had an offer. Expect Pitino to go after mostly front court players as he tries to close out his 2014 class.

Also, both Louisville and IU 247 sites have stated that IU is going to start pushing for Black. They even stated he still has a strong relationship with UF, though I noticed above that he wasn't listed when discussed a few days ago.

There seem to be some good vibes for the Vols coming from Black. He's yet to even narrow things down to eight schools but told us emphatically on Thursday that Tennessee is one of the schools that he's still considering. He went on to add that his relationship with Martin was one of the strongest he has with any head coach recruiting him. ON the plus side for Tennessee here is the notion that Black doesn't seem, at least at this point, to be enamored with hometown Memphis. However, he's also got tons of options, so there's a lot more to worry about there than just the Tigers.

That sounds good. If he is serious about faith and relationship w/ the coach being his deciding factor, I really like our chances.

How nice would it be to land Black and Looney? Weird, a couple of weeks ago I would have said we were in better position to land Looney.? Seems it may have switched...

If Leron Black doesn't attend Memphis Midnite Madness then I would say UT is definitely in the mix. If Pastner get's him to attend chances are he's considering the Tigers heavily. Stay tune for this as this has been a heavy recruiting tool the Tigers have used in getting some great classes.

I don't think well land either, but that's jmo at this point.

And that's not necessarily a crisis, there's alot of talent on the board. Hurt & London are at the top of my list, you pull those 2 around Cornish and Cofer and that's a very solid 4. I think it's possible the staff takes Demery as well, and then sets their eyes on a PG.

I think it is well known that Black has a strong faith, and Memphis was not at the top of the list because he probably favors a coach with a similar faith. However, there was an article this week in Memphis that said that UM has gotten back in the race because of Robert Kirby, new assistant, who is from Memphis and a great recruiter.

I won't be surprised wherever he ends up.

Memphis and Robert Kirby are trying to put the full court press on Leron Black. Who knows if that's enough to get Memphis' name back in the mix for him.

Ehh hard to say. Looney has been quite really when he does interviews we are usually mentioned. No very many think we have the slightest chance to get black.

I don't think we get either, but looney IMO would be the more probably of the 2.

If duke lands Okafor, Jones and Winslow package deal that it looks like they're gonna land, that may really cool Looney on them. If that happens, then it's anyone's ball game at that point and the fact we've been on him so long may play out well for us.

What's up guys. Been a while since I've posted. I come in peace. While I do think Leron is a great player, I just don't see him being a good fit at Memphis. He (from what I have heard, read, and watched) seems like the type of player that needs to be THE guy. And there is nothing wrong with that, but I don't think that type of mentality would fit well on a team like Memphis who has another few players coming in who also semi have that mentality. A team full of alpha's hardly ever works. I do actually see Leron being a good fit for UT. With Jarnell's time winding down and Hubbs seeming like a guy who can share stardom, it may be the perfect fit.

After that very rational post, I now have to throw my Memphis homer-ism in there! Ha! If Memphis doesn't end up with Leron, that's okay. Memphis is in the mix for multiple top 5 players over the next few years. 2 of which are 99% Memphis as of now. But in all seriousness though, Alexander would be a huge pickup for Memphis next year. I believe he is the number 2 player right now. Using one of his 5 officials on Memphis.

Lmao at saying Cliff Alexander is a 99% Memphis lean, there's absolutely nothing rational about that post.

20 predictions and not 1 to Memphis lol

Cliff Alexander
When did I say Alexander is the 99% to Memphis?? I was speaking of the brothers from Hamilton High. And apparently you have not been keeping up with Alexander. He listed his top 10 schools and Memphis was one. And then later listed who he would take his 5 officials to and Memphis was one.

But what I truly "lmao" to is the fact that Tennessee actually bothered offering Alexander. UT offering him is right on par with SMU and Providence offering him.

Kinda like how Memphis bothered offering Hubbs lmao?

Did you ever even got an UOV from Hubbs, Alexander has actually visited Tennessee before. So before you go spouting off about stuff you clearly aren't educated on, why don't ya do a little research.
