'14 TN F Leron Black

Memphis fans hadn't heard of Robert Hubbs, 5* recruit, #1 player in the state, who lives less than an hour away and played AAU w/ Austin Nichols?

Oh, and they really don't think that 5 star forward Leron Black wouldn't be a good "fit"? Could that be because most think he's going to end up elsewhere?

Black would be a great fit almost anywhere. Memphis didn't think they had a shot however there's new interest from Blck since Robert Kirby was hired. I still think he may end up elsewhere but there are 5-6 schools with a good shot.

That's actually not true, Hubbs was martins #1 the minute he got the job. Then again you haven't been right on anything else, not sure why I'd expect you to start now.

Hubbs was Martin's #1 but he also pretty much assumed he had Nichols as well. Would have been an awesome tandem. Can't wait to see how Hubbs turns out in college. He could easily be a 1 or 2 and done. Juat depends on his development in the college game.

Actually you did, you predicted Memphis would land him, promise.

No, I didn't.

I may have said Memphis appears to lead for him, way back in December 2011 or January 2012, because it appeared that we did at the time. The kid was a big Tiger fan, and was rocking Tiger gear.

By the Spring of 2012, interest had cooled and Memphis knew it was getting one of Markel Crawford or Jujaun Johnson. Hubbs started favoring SEC schools and I stated as much on this board. We tried to get in with Hubbs later, but no dice.

The four spot appears to be rather crowded for Memphis with Iverson, King, Pellom and Nichols. Gotta think Black is considering that fact heavily. Not that this helps UT, but he has to see he would get significant playing time at UT compared to Memphis.

King is not a PF, but your point is still valid.

Iverson is a 3, King is a 3, Pellom is a senior.

Leron Black and Nichols could easily share court time together.

Pellom will be gone after this year. King and Iverson are more suited for the 3, Iverson would prefer PG if Pastner would allow.

Edit: MC already addressed this

Love to see Black in Orange, but I think he either goes to Memphis or completely out of State. Thanks for the ensight guys.

Pretty much been addressed by BTO but Pellom is a SR., Iverson can play 1-4, King's a 3 and Nichols will see time at the 4 and 5.

This one's for BTO. Currently a sports nation vote up right now for best hoops conference. AAC is currently 3rd and a few hundred votes away from 2nd. SEC is 9th. Ouch.

Isn't the AAC losing their best team next season?

The fact you continue to include them when trying to prove how strong the AAC is going forward, is beyond mind boggling.

That conference still has Louisville lol. Lets do this poll again next year.

I would imagine after UCONN, Memphis, Cincinatti, Temple, and possibly one other wild card makes it to the tournament this year, it would still be voted a top conference.[/QUOTE

What about the next season?

That's what I was talking about. After those teams make the tournament this year, it would still be rated a top conference the next year.
