'14 TX DE Dimarya Mixon (UT commit 11/9/13)

Not sure if it has been addressed. Will/has Mixon cancel his OV to oklahoma now that he has committed to the Vols?

For all those that still don't believe in the no visit rule you might want to follow this. Very very safe bet that this visit doesn't happen or he isn't in the class

Evan Woodberry was saying there's some ambiguity as to whether or not we can backcount to the year before the rule went into effect, which would allow us 32 if we wanted. It's not a black and white science.

Oh really?

That would be, in my best Mr. Burns, excellent.

I don't know much about this kid, I hope he is fast and can tackle.

He has to have speed or Butch would not have recruited him right? I hope he can tackle. If Butch recruits any slow players after what he has stated and seen on the field, then I would really begin to question his judgement. No more slow DBs, DEs, and LBs, period.

Yeah, I heard something like that as well. I'm pretty sure some kids will be ran off as well.

Why has rival not ranked this kid. I am curious to see how they view his talent compared to other jucos

Probably because he is neither a juco or a HS player this fall. He will be a mature college freshman, I think it's a good pickup.

He cancelled it. He told one of those sites that he is done with recruiting. No calls no visits.

After seeing the pic someone posted. I remember seeing him at game and saying that dude based in size looks like he could play for us right now. Makes sense now that it was him.

Playing strong side defensive end, he will need to be able to anchor the edge with great strength, tenacity, and some quickness.

And that's the whole point of my posting. I've seen all kinds of incorrect stuff on the net. Some of it may even be mine.

There is a lot of wiggle room.

We signed 21 last year, so we must have at least 29 we can give this year as long as any over 25 are EEs. I don't know how many we had to give the year before, but it always seems like 2 or 3 or 4. Whatever that was can be added to the 29. The main numbers to watch are 25/85.

We have about 10 early enrollees so 30 is the only number you need to concern yourself with. As opposed to VolChat, posters here are much more knowledgeable and understand the 25 and 85 limits.

So YOU say. Anybody with fingers and toes can understand the 25/85 limits.

We can bring in 25 in the 2014 class, period. The rest have to go on the 2013 class. I am simply trying to understand, as is everybody else, how we are going to fit so many in this cycle. I know the numbers will work out, but not how.

I knew somebody would get snarky. It's the internet.

from what I can tell, Butch is looking to upgrade speed and athleticism at every position...He knows that he can add size and strength to these kids when they get here, but you can't make them fast and athletic. In 2 yrs we will have an extremely aggressive attacking defense, with speed everywhere.

We can backcount 5 to last year's class. If you thought my post was snarky, buckle your seatbelt because it'll get much snarkier.

So you think 30 is our limit and it's a hard number? That is possible, but we are still recruiting a number of prospects. That's the whole mystery, I think. Lots of possibilities. Do they know somebody isn't going to make it in? Do fans interpret rules incorrectly?

I can't remember. Is 5 the limit on back counts or is it possible to go higher?

PS: I was laughing when I typed the snarky comment.
