'15 AL OL Brandon Kennedy

Saban's blocking it because it's UT/Pruitt. Maurice Smith transferred from Bama to UGA, David Williams transferred from SCAR to Ark and Nick Harvey transferred from aTm to SCAR. It would be a bad look for the SEC to play hardball with Brandon Kennedy. Saban already looks hypocritical.

Bump

I have defended Satin here and I feel dang awfully dirty about it. So I just want to know the truth.

If Saban has stood behind the rule on ALL of his grad transfers within the SEC then i buy what he is saying

However if he selectively blocks his grad transfer guys then he is a hypocritical bastard.

Just looking for the truth

Again, hiding behind the SEC rule is disingenuous. His use of hyperbole with the "if yall want free agency" is a losers argument and equivalent to a teenage girl saying "I'll never talk ever again". With that said, rule will probably be amended to give grad transfers full release so Saban will only look like an *******, again.

You've defended Satin? How did I miss a stripper involved in all of this?

No doubt Saban is talking with some anger here. I just think he is right the rule needs to be done away with. It seems everyone here agrees with getting rid of the rule

Listen to him again. He is not for a rule change. He uses hyperbole to show that.

I would vote for Nick Saban for President. Everything he’s ever said makes sense. I think he would be a great leader. Plus it would get him out of the SEC.

Go ahead and @ me.

On a more serious note, given I come no where close to understanding the APR rules, can someone tell me, does a non-graduate transfer effect the APR? I read somewhere that it could. Given that, I can understand a school being able to limit the transfers of those individuals if for no other reason than discouraging players not to leave. But in the case of a grad transfer, they have upheld the APR, they have upheld their scholarship obligations(scholarships do not specify playing four years of football, just that you play football while they pay for your schooling), they've done what they were supposed to do and helped your team in the time they were there. JMO, but there should be no restrictions on where they can transfer to. Add to that he'd simply be a back up at Bama, not a starter. I just don't understand prohibiting from going somewhere he would most likely start. In no way are you serving the interests of the player.

A regular transfer does affect APR IF that player leaves school ineligible, goes juco or doesn't go anywhere.

If they go to a 4 year school In good acedemic standing they don't hurt APR

Sooo sounds like a good question would be has the sec upheld a blocked transfer request, or enforced this rule, with a grad transfer? Already seen the precedents where it was allowed...

Excellent question

And another question has there ever been one that was only at the school for 3 years?

I'm sure the answer to the 2nd ? Is yes. But I don't care enough to find out.😜

Also, let's not forget, Alabama doesn't have to enforce this rule. They could grant the waiver, w/out the conference needing to be involved.

So sure, technically it's a rule. But only enforceable if the school stands in the way, and the kid won't go outside the conf.

"It's a conference rule. I always give people releases. And he has a release to go wherever he wants to go, but the conference rule says he can't go within the conference. So why is that on me? The Maurice Smith thing wasn't on me, either."- Nick Saban

Why...why...why do you freakin argue with him when it has been proven literally thousands of times by now that he is nothing but a garbage contrarion troll? There is zero honesty in him. He defaults to the contrarion view immediately. You are a intelligent and respected poster, how can you or anybody that has been here for long enough to know his schtick entertain him by engaging? I do not understand it at all.

Well. UT88 is not a quitter. 😄
