'15 CA QB Sheriron Jones (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Another strawman. Are all the kids we are discussing in this thread impoverished?

Look up the meaning of that word "often" that I used. Between you're *****ing at the staff plus poor reading comprehension, I'm starting to think you may actually be Riley Ferguson.

Why is it so foreign that people honor their word around here?

You have to understand that most folks on this board just don't care at all about these guys. It's a piece to the winning puzzle. If that piece does not fit, toss it in the trash and give me another. They don't actually buy into what CBJ preaches about "family" and "foundation". Of course it does not help when the guy preaching it does not practice it. 99% of the people on the board never were recruited or knew someone close to them who was. There just is no connection to the actual athletes who choose to be Vols, so it's easy for them to look at them as a pawn so to speak and not an actual person. Spit on them, stab them, cut their throat for all they care. If the kid does not directly relate to UT winning, dump him.

Can't argue with the film. He can play. I'm a JJ guy but I'm now in favor of this move. If JJ is the competitor that I've known him to be, he will compete his butt off which makes the team better.

Bring it on

Exactly. JJ can ball and has a lot of upside. I think if Jones comes on board and they both compete, it will only make them both better players. And that is only good for the team.

I never said CBJ had it set up for Jones to de-commit at this time. I'd guess Jones choosing to de-commit was because of the UF coaching situation. Now I do feel that CBJ is 100% wrong for trying to go against what he said to the (2) guys committed and now sneak another QB in when it's likely too late for the committed guys to do something else.

Wasn't talking about you Leb. 👍. I actually enjoy debating with you as you avoid the name calling. I may disagree with you but I would still watch a game with you and buy you a beer. Your buddy on the other hand....

Actually, she does have a substantial academic scholarship. But the amount is real so these guys do have $25,000/year jobs. Plus they are showcasing their abilities to potentially make huge paycheck. Arguing that they are slaves is laughable. No one forces them to choose a school, accept a scholarship, and play football. It is a symbiotic relationship.

I thought you said you were paying for it.

OK, what if they granted your daughter a $25,000 scholarship, them waited until a weak or two before she arrived on campus and then said she has to compete with others to get her scholarship funded when originally she was told she wouldn't have to? Would that fly with you?

What evidence do you actually have that someones scholarship isn't being honored? And don't say the timing is obvious. You should either share what you have or just STFU about it. What you're doing is every bit as cowardly and irresponsible as what you're accusing others of.

I didn't say Jones orchestrated it either. As far as the pathetic comment, I was just stating the obvious.

STFU about it.

No, don't think I will. Just because the circumstances change doesn't mean one's word shouldn't be honored.

Do you think Dormady would have turned down Bama, which by the way is playing for a national championship, and shut down his recruiting to play for Tenn if he thought Jones was going to keep adding QB's?

Surely you do not think that Dormady and his family have not been in contact with Butch and this hasn't been discussed.

Do you know anything at all about him or have ANY evidence to show that he feels misled in this situation?? I can keep asking the same question all night and the answer won't change. But have at it. The threads wrecked and I have to go to a holiday party. I'm sure you have a riot or protest somewhere to organize.

Get over yourself, it's college football and that's the way it is. You can talk all you want but the bottom line is whatever CBJ is selling, recruits ARE buying. Do you not think these recruits know a little about recruiting from their HS coaches? I don't know for sure but I would be willing to bet that Saban, Fisher and other great coaches tell recruits what they want to hear and then go back on their word. And if they do, so what? This ain't pee wee football where a kid can cry to his dad and the dad can complain to the coach. This is big boy football. Winning is what matters to us fans, the players and the coaches.

You don't understand how recruiting works then. Coaches can change their mind. I can almost guarantee that QDs dad, being a HS coach, knows this better than anyone. You and LV are just stuck in pee wee football land.

Tennessee Volunteers Football, Basketball, and Recruiting Front Page

"Jones and Bajakian played pivotal roles in landing the Class of 2015 signal-caller.
"They were definitely a huge factor," Dormady said. "I felt comfortable around them and those are great men. They've got great character. That's who I want to surround myself with to become a better person and later down the road a better husband and father. They were definitely a huge part of it.""

Bet he is rethinking this.

You have no clue of what you speak or what I know.

No, that's not the case at all. Some here have faith that Butch is doing the right thing both ethically and with what's best for the program. His job depends on it. You and others jump to huge conclusion based on the outward appearance of a situation knowing zero about what's being discussed between Butch and the recruits. What's curious to me is how you always see the negative possible scenario instead of giving Butch the benefit of the doubt. You've also, given Saban a pass for the same tactics because he wins. Not sure why you call yourself a TN fan.
