I love Jones game and man does he throw a nice ball. Hits his runners in stride, something we've lacked for a while. High football IQ, can get out and scramble.. If our coaches chose not to pursue this guy something would be wrong. Jones is one of the best passers in this class.

We were going hard after Jones until he committed to Florida. Definitely wanted this kid.

I remember that. I also like the competition he faces on a consistent basis. I like Dormady, but Sheriron has a better arm IMO. His commitment has always been confusing being that we don't need a guy who is "quick" in our offense, but one that can make something out of nothing with his feet.

Jones and Jennings fit that mold, and while Dormady may be a very gifted QB he is not nearly as athletic.

Im going to get trashed for this but wed be better off taking Dormady and Jones at qb and telling Jennings hes going to be an all American at safety.

No problem in giving him a shot at it, and I believe you and he would be an absolute monster on defense. With his quickness and Cam Sutton there wouldn't be much room to throw on us.

Pairing Jennings with TK is a safety duo we havent had since White and Grant. With Sutton on one side, Moseley or Martin or Abernathy on the other and Gaulden at nickel. Thats frightening.

EB and Morley say what up??? But yeah that would be a nasty duo for sure.

Guy has a good deep ball. Not sure on the velocity but accuracy looks good.

If a guy like Sheriron shows interest you have got to after him. He is perfect for our system.

Absolutely. The dude can ball... as can Q and JJ. Bring them all and slug it out on the practice field. If one of them decides they don't want to fight to be the QB for the Tennessee Volunteers... well... bye. Give me the alpha males.

Well anyone who thinks pursuing Jones with verbals from QD and JJ is wrong should watch the next replay of the OSU/Wisconsin game. Might actually show what having 3 QB's with the ability to step in, start and win means for a team...

Of course having (3) QBs on the roster is important. But as has been pointed out many times now, 3 in 1 class is NOT common or a normal thing at all. 4-5 recruiting classes build a roster. Fans get too caught up in trying to build a roster in EVERY class. It's just not common sense at all.

As for the "what if" CBJ got the ok from QD & JJ to sign another QB, the timing of it IMO points to that being BS. Why did he not keep recruiting QBs 6 months ago? No, he waited till the dead period coming up, had the 2 committed guys locked in and now it's shady tactics time. Do I think JJ for 1 second is cool with another QB added to the class? No chance at all. Griffin was going to be the class S. Now he is being considered an OLB. UT wanted a S in the class. Now CBJ is trying to take another QB with JJ being a possibility at S. I know the kid is not an idiot and can see what's about to happen here. Did he OK it? You're not going to sell me on that nonsense.

LV, Logic and common sense meets nothing but ridicule and smartass comments on this forum.

To the guy speculating that I am in the area. I am in Texas but not in San Antonio area. I have a very close Vol friend that is stationed in San Antonio and he has been following Dormady's recruitment very closely. He's been to several games and has gotten to know some folks very close to the Dormady's and QD's teammates.

Dormady believed he and Jennings were the only QB's to be taken because he was told that by the staff. If you want to justify Jones going back on his word based on the situation changing or that's what others do, you are demonstrating your lack of character and integrity.

I trust none of you that are justifying Jones going back on his word will refrain in the future from trashing kids that change their minds and drop Tenn in the grease.

I've been around long enough to know if you have a differing opinion and or don't fall in line with the "group of UT does no wrong", then you have to have thick skin. The name calling, and bashing will happen and you just have to ignore it. For some reason some folks are allowed to call a person names or personally attack them and nothing happens. Others do it and they disappear for a while. I think it matters which group you fall into and if you are "in the group". It is funny at times to watch it all play out. I just state my opinions and ignore the hate. Someone does not like what I have to say. Ignore me. It's not going to hurt my feelings. I don't expect everyone to agree with everything I have to say. Does that make me wrong? No. The whole UT is perfect, CBJ does no wrong, Tennessee is a beacon of sunshine all the time is just hilarious. The folks who buy into that and think do whatever you want and be as shady as you want as long as it gets us to 6-6 and a bowl, are in for a rude awakening IMO. Drop commitments, burn bridges, it does not matter. That will catch up to these coaches and when it does, those same folks will be complaining about how and why all this happened. "Other schools do it".

Sometimes ya just have to sit back and watch it unfold.:zeitung_lesen:

Well now that this grand conspiracy has been so clearly illustrated by you two, it'd be almost a sin for it not to come to fruition...think Butch could grow a Snydely Whiplash mustache by NSD?

Is it a "UT can do no wrong" group or a "I have no idea what has transpired between coaches and players so I'm going to stay positive and hope for the best" group?

That's the thing though, even when it turns out to not be positive, the spin is ramped up like it's the tilt-a-whirl.

"UT is just doing what is in the best interest of the kid".

"But he was committed for 8 months and then dropped the week before NSD"?

"They did him a favor, he was just not good enough".

I don't think it's a conspiracy. Just shady recruiting tactics. If CBJ pushes to sneak in the 3rd QB, I just hope that QD & JJ's parents are smart enough to see it playing out and advises the kids to take a step back. Unless CBJ gets burned pulling stuff like this, he will continue doing it. I'd rather not see it.

There's a very good chance NP transfers. That changes things. I'm not pretending Butch is the Pope, but please quit trashing the guy, calling him shady and dishonest, that UT has shady recruiting tactics, hoping parents see through Butch's dishonest ways... really? I can't even read this forum right now because you're hammering this point in EVERY THREAD/ We're taking too many RBs, We're taking too many QBs, the coaches are dishonest recruiters...

Finally going to have to use ignore just so i can read updates without sorting through so much useless banter about how evil UT is.

IMO, Jennings and Dormady should both re-open their recruitment and see if they can trade up. There are highly ranked teams well above .500 that are playing in big time bowls and expected to finish in the top ten that want them. Come to think of it, even more teams may come to the table.

Why settle and succumb to bush league tactics?

Coach Jones is going to end up with egg on his face if Jones chooses another school.

There are other important needs. UT cannot sign all three of these guys unless one of them is not going to be a QB.

Jennings appears to be the least polished of the 3 throwing the ball. Was anyone else at a Power 5 school recruiting him as a QB?

that's the beauty of recruiting, both sides can reopen any time. Commitment means nothing in this day and age and we all know that. Ask yourself one question though, don't you think Domrnady and Jennings are in contact with the staff? Don't you think either one can call or text Coach Jones at any time and ask questions or find out what is up with Sheriron? I would almost guarantee both have the coaches ear. It is not a conspiracy. It is just football.

I don't pretend to know what's going on in this recruitment but it's safe to say that Butch knows a whole more about the QB situation than anyone else does. So I'm gonna let him do what he gets paid to do. Do your thing, Butch.

Leb, I like you ok but to trash Butch and call him shady and dishonest is just wrong. Not saying he's perfect because this is recruiting. No one knows what's going on behind the scenes of this situation and the communications and such.
