Not as athletic as Lawson. He's underrated and he's a pretty polished prospect but he doesn't have the upside Lawson had because he just had more raw talent. There aren't all that many Fr that make an impact like Lawson did last yr. it's not like RB, CB, or WR. DLine guys usually take longer to develop. Lawson was too dynamic to keep off the field. I think Butcher could contribute as a Fr, but I don't think he's better than Lawson. He definitely doesn't make him look mediocre.

that’s not to suggest butcher isn’t impressed when coaches like alabama’s nick saban call him.

He said they’re just not going to change his mind.

“it’s been really nice,” butcher said. “it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. And i hope to be beating them a couple of years from now.”

Ever since I watched him play at the Junior All Star Game, I've been pumped about him. Kid absolutely dominated that game against the best juniors in Georgia.

"It was just hanging out with the commits and the coaches growing those relationships which is always good," Butcher said. "It's nice to be back.

"This is home for me. It's the place for me."

Butcher, who weighs a personal high 250 pounds, has been a popular name the last week or so. Alabama, Miami, and Missouri have all offered in the last week. News that surprised no one including the Tennessee coaches who according to Butcher and his family told him when he committed last Junes that he would be a popular man. The Alpharetta, Ga. native said the new offers make him proud, but also made it clear Rocky Top is his home.

"It's nice to get that honor that those schools think highly enough of me that they would like for me to play for them, but I'm not going there. I'm coming to Tennessee," Butcher said.

Article also mentions that Andrews father, Brian, was born in Knoxville and his grandparents lived in Corryton, TN where he would spend time in the summer. Said he's working to get bigger, faster and stronger and he calls Coach Strip once or twice a week.

My evaluation of him, is that he is an excellent all around DE. Strong at point of attack. Can hold and set the edge. Bull Rush. And also has the ability to beat a tackle with speed.

Love this kid's film. Explosive out of his stance, continuous motor and takes great angles to the ball carrier. Gonna be a great player here.

Should be getting a nice bump tomorrow.

"We have him ranked considerably higher than any other service, especially considering he's in the 250 when he's not higher than a three-star anywhere else. He also moved up this round of rankings. He had a great year and has great film and turned in a very good all-star performance and was deserving of the bump."

I've been watching a lot of video on this kid and he looks awesome. I'm wondering what everybody else thinks of him at the DE position, and his chances of moving up to a 5star?
