'15 FL DE Marques Ford (FORMER UT commit)

To play Devil's Advocate...

Leb, do you think it's dirty as well when a kid commits to a school and the school prepares to have them on their squad for the next year, only to have them flip to another school on NSD?

IMO, the coaches are paid to put the strongest possible roster together and if they don't, well they will fail. If your job was determined the same way that theirs was, I am sure you wouldn't want to put all of your faith in the "commitment" of a 17 or 18 year old kid.

I am not saying it doesn't suck for the kid, however sometimes it is necessary in this cut throat business.

Had Ford been taking visits and considering other options I would be fine with what played out. Obviously that's not the case here. CBJ wants to replace Oliver, Miller, Bussey, or whoever I have no issue with it.

Yes. It leaves a kid very uncertain about his future. As its been pointed out many times a GS guarantees a recruit NOTHING. He could never be added to the team even if he agrees and rolls the dice on waiting.

You either need to find another sport or stop following recruiting. You seem like a person who cries when they swat a fly or something to that effect.

I see you haven't posted much, welcome to the board.

Don't listen to Leb, he can straight ruin the following recruiting.

He will beat a dead horse and the ground where the horse was.

I'm sure CBJ would appreciate your having no issue with it. And I also doubt he is concerned with your disapproval of the present situation.

2 weeks before NSD is not dirty? Sorry, I just can't buy it.

I remember Bama offering Kwon Alexander a greyshirt...on signing day! That's dirty. He ended up at LSU. I don't see Bama having any difficulties signing elite talent. It happens at all big time programs. That's where we are heading back to. At least we reached out to programs for him and helped him land somewhere.

This is one of those situations where you feel bad and good at the same time (bitter sweet).

This is exactly where our program needs to be and I expect this to be the norm going forward. Time to be picky as all hell on the recruiting end.

Good luck Ford, please stay out of the SEC because you are a good one, but time to immediately move on to the next recruit.

 You mean they didn't run the grey shirt prospect past the RF experts beforehand to see if they agreed?

We're not selling it to you...Butch is responsible for getting the program where it belongs. If this works, you have the option of not cheering with the rest of us...your loss. If he makes these moves and we don't progress...we'll move on to the next coach...who will do what needs to be done...I don't think you'll like his methods either.

I might. Just a little integrity is alright. I promise.
