'15 FL DE Marques Ford (FORMER UT commit)

That's not the question he asked

I felt I answered it. You will usually not have a kid flip unless he is taking late visits. I am fine with replacing any commitment who takes visits after committing. If the staff chooses to ride it out to NSD with a kid who is taking trips and they get burned, it is what it is.

He asked if you thought it was dirty for a kid to flip on NSD. Doesn't have **** to do with taking visits or being replaced. Pretty simple...

And going by your logic, if a kid gets burned by a school, then hey it is what it is. Life goes on. You can't boo-hoo when a kid gets burned and then say that a school should know better if they get burned.

The hypocricy meter has pegged out today with all of his posts.

Not really. I guess I just don't see coaching and a recruit as not at all the same. I suppose if CBJ hired a coach just to sign a certain recruit then fired him the day after NSD it would be compare able.

And with that I am out. Gonna go lift heavy things and run fast on a treadmill.

Later rednecks! :yu:

I might. Just a little integrity is alright. I promise.

These arguments all root back to the fact that Leb thinks the world operates in black and white and fails to understand the grey area that is reality. Jones is the caretaker of a body (the whole program) and he has to make decisions that are in the best interest of the whole body. Difficult decisions that he sometimes does not like. If a finger has to be sacrificed because it is what is best for the body then he has to make that decision. Is that the best outcome for the finger? Does the finger like that? No. It's not a perfect world. Tough decision are part of living in an imperfect world. And college football only amplifies the imperfect world that we live in. It is a dirty, dark grey area. If integrity is of ultimate importance to you in a college football situation then you just have a different agenda then most in the business. It is just a different niche in the system. I would say David Cutcliffe is a great example of that. He is much less likely than most coaches to cut off a finger to save the body. As a result, he has a very definite ceiling on how high his program can go. Operating your program that way just will not win national championships in a dirty college football atmosphere. If you are good with that it does not make you wrong. It just puts you in a different category than a VAST majority of the people involved in business of college football.

You have to do what is best for the program. Ford committed a long time ago when our needs vs the prospects we were in on probably were a little different. Regardless of your opinions you aren't the coach and never will be nor will I. I for one want WINS. If someone else gives us a better chance to do that then it then so be it. Does it suck that Ford was all vol? Yes. Will Kelley, Patrick, Allen, and Richmond help us more than the 4th best DE in this recruiting class? Definitely! It is what it is.

Committed to Rutgers. Cool. Good luck to him, and thanks for the info. I will now leave this thread forever. I leave you to your bickering, and inevitable talking behind my back :)
