'15 FL DE Marques Ford (FORMER UT commit)

I can see him getting bumped up (to a 4*) this season. Has good speed, great hand movement/quickness, very shifty and relentless. If I were an SEC OT, I wouldn't want to have to block this guy all day. He's going to make his sacks/plays.

Chuck Smith might say he's "got that dog in him," doesn't get hung up on blocks, never stops, gets to the QB one way or another. Glad he is on our team.

Why the hay does every analyst want to move both Barnett and Hendrix (or every underclassman DE who is 265-275 for that matter) to tackle? We need SDE's in a bad way.

Because they both have the body type to gain a lot more weight & slide inside. (twss)

If they're already 270+, pretty safe to say they'll probably play around 285 during their careers.

I agree on the swim move, but it looked like that was the only move he had. I guess due to the competition he's playing he can get away with it every down. The old saying if it ain't broke don't fix it pertains here greatly. But in college that won't always work. I want to see him bull rush through the defender once.

Like I said I'm probably way off with my opinion and will be eating my words in a couple years.

But I would like to say that he wants to be a volunteer and Jones wants him too, so I'm stoked to have him. Best of luck Marques.

There ballers all over the Tampa area... My sons play at their respective schools here. This is a very, very talent rich area. They play tackle (all kids) on 2 teams in the fall, with practices from 4 to around 8 everyday, except game days, tackle ball all spring. 7 on 7, with camps in the summer. 8th grade off line avg is 6' 230. Marques is going against a lot of kids that will play at major colleges. He plays quality competition. Ray raulerson and Blair from Plant. I do believe he played against raulerson last year.

I am going to call on my vast experience as a former high school football player and peewee football coach to analyze his film.......He Good!

BOOOOM!

This kid is really athletic I mean his first is really quick. He will get a bump by the services before seasons end. When he gets into our S&C program he will get a lot more explosive.

Quickness and swim move is awesome

Of the three we could've gotten, Clemmons, Olenga, or Ford, I think he is the best.

Olenga is very raw and might have some grade concerns

Clemmons is extremely fast but is only 210 lbs and there is a concern about whether he can keep his speed after adding weight.

Ford is fast, strong, and incredibly powerful, and is already playing at a pretty good weight for a WDE.

I trust the coaches on this one and I think the pieces fell right into place for the best guy to commit.

Agreed. Love the pickup.

We needed DE's that aren't going to grow into DT's in a bad way. This guy looks like he has everything the coaches can't teach him.
